CA Smog = Checking ECU for Tunes

    Pioneer CD, Megaloud/JBL amps, Rockford/Polk speakers.
    Yup, I'm in MA and I know they connect to OBD2. Not sure off my head if they do the tail probe still come to think of it..

    @trdquoc . I wonder if all the smog shops have all the monitoring for the tune. I might run my truck into my smog shop and do a double check.

    I wonder since you own a smog shop if your machine recently received a software update . Thats the only way I think they can implement the new rules is to update the software of the smog computers .

    I don’t own a smog shop, but all smog shops in California are required from what I was told to do their updates and calibrations. The shop I went to said his was updated, and he knew about the new rules regarding the “tuned” vehicles.

    My thoughts were the smog software is looking for certain parameters that try to do smog delete stuff, or that the California database isn’t complete with all the vehicle Calibrations.

    Thanks. At this point I think we're good to go. Thanks again. I'll bet the Tune just shows up like a TSB flash and because it's kinda mild we are ok
