Does anyone else have a pre-TSB measurement on a TRD off-road? I know it can differ from vehicle to vehicle but I'm just curious how much mine changed since I forgot to get a "pre" measurement.

    Before

    After

    Couple things:
    1) It appears the serial number on the leafs have been "altered". You can clearly tell that one of the numbers on both the LH and RH have been changed. Has anyone else noticed this? I mean it's definitely stiffer and lifted some but doesn't appear as lifted as a lot of other members' who have posted pics post TSB...

    2) I forgot to get a measurement beforehand but I'm now at about 37.5" ground to top of wheel-well through the center cap.

I've got 5100's on the way and I would have waited until I put them on to take in for the TSB to get the free alignment but I got a pair last minute a few days ago after I had already scheduled the TSB. And actually, I really don't mind the rake it's at right now. Think I'm just gonna set the 5100's to .85 when I put them on.

I have measured my non-TSB 2011 Pre, but it is a sport, not OR, rear drivers side is 36.75"

    Thanks,
Yeah just judging by the visuals, I'm pretty sure I got about 1.5" out of the TSB but it hasn't had time to settle yet.

Mine is going in on tuesday for leaf spring TSB. I tried to convince the serv manager to do the steering coloum tsb since the wheel shakes but he said we'll do I at another time. He'll see when i rip him around the block the wiggle it has. I'll take both measurments the day i drop it off. Oh yeah it took 4 calls to finally get them to do tbs, they were most convinced when i drove up there with snow packed in back and it was nose WAY high

The TSB springs will settle to approx 3/4 " over your stock US 3 leaf pack , the time they take to settle will depend on the amount of weight you haul in the bed.

The first day I went in and requested the TSB, he said they'd have to check out my truck and took it into the back for 30min. Not sure if they load tested it or just checked out the VIN and made sure it fell under the TSB but he came right back out and said he'd order the parts. The day I took it in to have it done, I was confronted by another service associate who grilled me on why I needed it done because he had a Taco and never had an issue towing, yada yada...

    Thanks! Good to know

I assume it will make it a bit firmer in the back, but when the bed is empty, can it result in some rear wheel instability? Could someone explain the wheel shake TSB?

No need to clutter the board with a one thousand and one more tsb posts, so other than the 4th leaf, what does the new spring do? Does it only soften up the ride if you are carrying something in the bed? Thanks.

I haven't noticed any such instability in the rear. Definitely stiffer, but I like it. As many others have said, it feels more like a truck should. The wheel shake mentioned has to do with the steering column, this thread's stickied at the top of the 2nd gen forum...
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/99531-steering-wheel-shake.html

The extra spring allows for more towing capacity without bottoming out your rear suspension. And although I haven't had it loaded down yet since getting the tsb done, I would imagine the ride would soften up with it loaded down some.

I hadn't notice much change in my DC TRD OR when I had the TSB done. You noticed a big difference? Maybe I didn't because it's an 2008. I dunno. :)
