Favorite UCA?

Hey guys and gals, lifting my 3rd Gen Tacoma. Going to grab a set of UCA but which is your favorite?

I’m running icons on everything else, should I just stick with the icon tubulars? Keep everything uniform or is there one you prefer? Let me know! All pics are appreciated

 

I'd check out JBA's. I don't personally have em, but a buddy of mine has these and he loves em. Also apparently super easy to maintain.

Spcs. Balljoints which are nice instead of uniballs, and they have all the adjustment you'll need. Helps to push the ifs forward to clear the cab with bigger tires.

 

I like my spc's for the adjustability

 

I have a set of JBA's and now after my second trip to the alignment shop the owner of the shop suggested I had gotten SPC's. There is nothing wrong with the JBA's and the reason for the shop visits was because of a few mishaps with unseen obstacles that cause the alignment to go out of whack. He explained the SPC's have much more adjustability options and whether I've started bending stuff or not I'm getting close to tolerance max on my camber. I had to have my JBA's replaced due to powder coat imperfections and the staff was super to talk to and deal with....and the pop of that red....

EDIT: Also verify your current wheel/tire combo if going with the JBA's...there are restrictions.

I'd say either will prolly do the job.

You can't beat JBA. I just installed the HD's with ADS 2.5's and love them. I love that you can grease them. and they are sealed

 

I’m install JBAs tomorrow. For the price point, they’re impossible to beat. Great quality, great customer service! Definitely recommend

 

I was looking into both of those options since I live in the midwest and don't want to deal with uniball joints and salty roads. I'm curious how much the 2022 TRD Pro UCA's will be once they hit the parts departments as well.

Also curious, whats the deal with the washers under the ball joint in one of the pictures?

 

I’m wonder if the the 2022 UCA’s are SPC’s. They kind of look like it.

 

I use total chaos uca with emf ball joint. It’s completely seals and regreasable. It doesn’t pit like a typical uniball through rough condition.

 

I have JBA high caster. They have been on 3 years now with no issues. Easy to keep greased. Had my truck aligned yesterday while in getting a wheel stud replaced. 4 degrees of caster!

To me it looks very similar to the Icon Billet UCAs except for the bushing area since they don't have the heim joints and the TRD ones use rubber bushings. Probably for longevity and drivability reasons. Unless they are going be made by Fox (and yet to be released), which is most likely since the truck is using Fox suspension. Also another difference is the the TRD ones have the ball joint at a slight angle, whereas the Icons do not. I haven't been able to find any info on the TRD UCA's at all. My guess is they won't be cheap through Toyota, but I'm very curious how much they will be.

 

Ironman 4x4 makes a mean ProForged UCA. Little expensive but lightweight and tough!

 

Those are some nice looking UCA's!! They are pricey at $800, but lower than most aluminum UCA's I've seen.

Does anyone have experience with Rough Country Aluminum UCA's? I'm not an RC fan at all! But for $270 I don't think they can be beat for price. I know it says ONLY 3.5" lifts, but I don't see the issue using them on 2.5"-3" lifts. I don't think that the alignment specs would be specific enough to ONLY be used with 3.5" lifts. I'm also curious what ball joint is used when replacement is needed. It is nice that they are sealed ball joints for people who have winter weather concerns and they have rubber bushings like OEM that will remain quiet. Many pluses, especially considering the price. I have never been a fan of RC which makes me leery, but this may slightly turn me around on some of their parts, not all though.

The difference in the pictures is that my first set had the JBA boots and the replacements I received had the short Toyota boots.

 

Ehhhhhh alright, what's the catch? 270$ makes me think there's a catch involved.
Maybe that's me being leery too huh?

They look nice, I'd like to know if anyone has experience with them as well!
