    Yeah.
Yeah, after seeing that I am glad we opted to take the long way around.

And yeah, I was sick as a dog, all that bouncing around after overindulging on BBQ kinda sucked. But, the views from Lead King the next morning were awesome.

    A thing or two...
Random question for the 3rd gen Taco folks. Does the cruise return to the set speed for you? I've got a 3rd gen Taco rental on the work trip that I'm on, and it will only return to 1 MPH under the set speed if it drops below the set speed. I figure it's either the program has too much damping, the elevation (4-6000 ft), or a combo. Not a big deal but kind of annoying.

Never had an issue with mine returning to speed unless I slowed down so much that six gear wasn't viable anymore

Being a rental, this is an auto. It seemed to do better coming back which is overall downhill, so it may just be the elevation gain. I'll see if it behaves the same tomorrow when I head back to the airport.

A little update on my situation, I got my truck back yesterday afternoon from the dealership. I talked with the head tech there, who I had sold a set of Baja Designs lights to a while back and also drives a 2nd gen Taco, he said that he was the one that did the work to fix it. New radiator and new fan are in and everything has been good so far. Everything turned out alright at the end of the day, and what happened to me could have happened to anyone. Honest mistakes happen sometimes, and they were nice enough to fix it in a timely manner.

I've never really noticed on mine. It shifts around too much for me since I put 10-plys on it; so, I just run the throttle myself.

Welp. In the last 72 hrs a relative and two coworkers have tested positive for COVID and a friend's relative passed away from COVID. Relative is unvaccinated and currently has double pneumonia. He was discharged from the ER but unknown as to whether that was because if his prognosis or availability of beds. Two coworkers are vaccinated and have very minimal symptoms (one just has loss of taste, other said feels like mild head cold). Friend's relative got his second shot the day before starting to show symptoms. I feel fine and don't technically meet CDC definition of exposure to my coworkers (haven't seen relative in a couple months) but probably gonna go get tested just in case.

    Stay safe out there folks.

The Abbott Quick Test for $20 at Kroger or Walgreens tested negative for my wife yesterday. Tasteless, smelless and a mild headache were her complaints soooooo...for what it's worth.

Yikes. I was out with a group of friends and all of the unvaccinated ones caught corona. Myself and my one other friend who got the vaccine have been totally fine and testing negative. Guess the vaccine is doing what it's supposed to in my case.

No taste and a negative test? Have her test again and do a PCR. I say everyone should get at least two PCRs if they suspect they have the virus.

I'm no doctor so my opinion is worth what you paid for it

I'm unvaxxed and my whole family is unvaxxed minus my wife. Mom, Dad, Brother, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle all got it. Grandpa and Uncle are the only ones that ended up in the hospital. Both out and doing fine. How it didnt take my unvaxxed 86 year old grandpa with diabetes and prostate cancer i have no idea. I have not had it or if i had i didnt have any symptoms. The way i look at the vaccine right now is do i possibly sacrifice my long term health for my short term health?

Don't see why any decent engine shop wouldn't be able to go through it. As long as cylinder heads aren't warped or the block isnt cracked etc you should be fine.

    Yeah.
I got a rebuilt 20R long block from a place in Dallas several years ago. Cost of all the parts and finding local machine shops to do the work would not have been much cheaper at the time. I paid $750, but right now it looks like they are going for $1,895 from toyotatruckengine.com. I got mine from JIS Engine in the Dallas area, they don't list prices.

We don't talk about that here on TW, it gets you a vacation.
