Just a little FYI, on the 4wd 2nd gen Tacoma trans mount, a couple people have over tightened the two main 7/16" bushing thru bolts and caused the bushing flanges to split. Its only happening on the nut side, which is the side that compresses when you tighten it. The SAE suggested torque for a 7/16" grade 5 course thread bolt is around 37ftlbs. But this is most likely a metal to metal fitment, and doesn't count on a poly bushing being in the equation. So definitely do not go over that torque# and probably not close to it. But personally, I would just tighten the nylock nut till it hits the tab, and then go 1/4 more turn at most and leave it. Cranking more turns into it will just flex the tab over and dig into the bushing flange.

The upper and lower two halves of the tranny mount fit together tight, it's designed to be close to a press fit, so no need to crank on the thru bolts.

    Right on.

There is no SAE torque "spec" for these bolts to be torqued through a polyurethane bushing in a custom off road application (that I'm aware of) So its best to just tighten the nut against the steel tab and stop. The nut is nylock, and there isn't any real movement to cause the nut to want to loosen.

Mounts have been sitting on my dresser every since they arrived. Heat busted out and I need it to cool down first. But I do get to at least look at them everyday. Lol.

Just got mine a couple of weeks ago but haven't had time to install it yet. I am a bit leary on using the oil that was noted as a spot to jack up the truck. Any sports or that is fine as long as a nice wood block pads it.

@Lucario Runner @Bonzen noted the 2wd and 4wd trans mount is the same in case it matters.

The 2wd and 4wd transmission mounts are different. The 4wd manual and automatic transmission mount is the same, as Toyota did not change the mounting geometry or the transmission case to which it mounts to. But the 2wd transmission case and crossmember are different.

As for placing the jack under the oil pan, I fully hear you, seems sketchy and I'm not a fan of "having" to do it...but it has proven safe to do it with a phone book or block of wood between the metal jack mount and the pan to lift the engine slightly and support it to R&R the engine mounts. Ive never seen an issue arise "aka the oil pan crushing" from the engine weight in 20 years of using that method. Its one of the few accessible spots to lift the engine if you don't have access to a hoist, which is obviously the preferred method.

Thanks! Trying to develop a brand identity. I'll tell you the detail and quality of the laser cut badges is damn good for how small the lettering has to be.

I have a dumb question, if I order these would I still need to do the DMZ engine mount gussets? I'd be running these on a 06 4runner 4.0.

Any tricks from folks for installing the motor mounts. Ideally, I want to do it without removing the AC compressor or Alt. Dropping the front diff a few inches for clearance is easy enough.
