Anyone else blown away that the next gen of game systems are coming soon?

Time flies!!! 2012 would follow the Playstation timeline for new systems, only a year away! I guess Nintendo is also supposed to announce a successor to the Wii this year. Not sure about Xbox but I feel like these systems are still new.

 

Better put the mods on freeze and start saving up.

 

How much better can it get than it is now? Maybe a lot better, can not even imagine the price tag on that. Happy with my PS3, money is going towards the truck.

 

I can only guess they are working on games/system for the new 3D tv's. Otherwise I can't imagine what could be next since games in HD are great now. But I'm sure that's what people were saying with the original NES after the Atari.

 

Yeah, my ps3 turned one this Christmas, and I still think it's awesome. Couldn't imagine the Ps4's graphics, I hope that more games utilize an "open-world" kind of map, similar to Red Dead Redemption. I think that's gonna be the future of games.

 

So everything seems to be going 3D now? Great as a blind guy, like I need another pair of glasses on top of my glasses...

 

it don't get better than quad core, 4.5gh, 2 tb, 16 gig o ram, and 1.5 gig of gpu.

Actually, I haven't even tried the new 3D stuff yet, but I hear it's pretty cool.

But seriously, I actually do think PC is a much better gaming platform, that said, consoles are way cheaper than building a sick ass PC. I wish I had money right now to build one myself

 

What? I have a laptop and a PS3. Combined they do a lot of things, what's that computer mumbo-jumbo gonna do when the next Sony game console comes out. Probably not too much. Good try though.

 

The 3-d stuff is pretty freakin awesome, there are a couple of xbox games that you can play in a 3-d mode. Like COD Black ops has a 3-d setting but i havent gotten a chance to check it out yet, but when i get home im definitely going to.

I just recently got a Kinect for the xbox and that is pretty amazing to me, i can only imagine what the new gen of game consoles are going to do.

 

Sony has no plans for a new playstation for another few years. they've said many times that the ps3 will have a 10 year life span.

 

It really doesn't matter what your pc has because realistically your eyes can only handle a certain fps rate as well your your isp vs your router and not giving you the least amount of latency.

What are you a graphics designer? 16gb of ram? Why didn't you get dual quad with that much ram? Also you should of gotten a 10K+ hard drive rather than the 7200 or 5400.

 

PC is cool and all, but the difference in graphics is barley noticeable, not enough to justify spending thousands on a gaming pc when i can go out and buy PS3 for only $300.

True your eyes can only see about 60fps. However it's how your video card delivers those graphics and the depth of them. If it was about fps then we would have stopped building videos cards after the voodoo banshee back in "97"
That's not my system. That was just a reference. You dont have to pay thousands of dollars for a "Gaming" computer. In fact for not much more than what the ps3 and 360 go for nowadays you can build a hi end system that would outperform both consoles 4x over.

There is a place for consoles and a place for pc's. Each has it's market. And from personal experience I have played both consoles and several lower end pc's including my gaming laptop (Asus G73jh) and the pc's will always look and perform much better than the consoles. And I can always upgrade. can you swap out gpu's and cpu's in either console? What about memory.
There's reasons why you can buy consoles for $399.
Each has a certain niche they are catering to.
I'm not crapping on consoles, I am a former 360 owner and loved it for what it did. Never had any problems such as the rrod and it served it's purpose. However I always seemed to be gaming on the laptop or desktop because of the "visual" aspect and field of depth was much better.
