Awesome, man. When I finally trade in I'm most likely going with an FJ or 4runner. Post pics!

    Yep.
I want one so bad. I love my truck but that FJ turns my head every time I see one. Once the Taco is paid off (this year) I'll pick one up.

I love Tacomas, but I've gone through 2 of them already and just want to test the waters with something else.

I'm glad you're happy, and they look awsome on the outside...but they have the visibility of a Sherman tank from the inside

    that was my turn off

Me too. I have a "real" FJ being a 79FJ40 and when I saw the concept drawings I was pretty excited thinking I might replace my wife's 00 4Runner sport with one. Then when I saw them in person an sat in one the visibility killed it for me. And the rear suicide doors are a major PITA in parking lots. I hated that with my access cab. Try and bring a shopping cart with your toddler in it next to your truck with a car next to it and get anything in... I swear my old 98 was better in this regard without the rear doors. We still have the same 4Runner and probably will for a few more years.

What did they tell you about the trans? I had mine replaced by my dealer at 60k, but had had problems since 25k. Every time the A/C was on it made a nasty rattle in the trans but went away when I pressed the clutch. After replacing the throw out bearing, the clutch and fly wheel, they finally gave in and replaced the entire trans. works perfect now but was wondering what was wrong with yours?

My old man has an FJ (2008). I'm a big fan of the aesthetics, but was a bit skeptical of how it would drive/interior/etc. At first, I thought it was horrible (looks like a tonka toy). But after driving it for awhile, I have come to love it. Yes, the dash could have some better design style/features. However, keep in mind it is an homage to the "real" FJ's of the past, thus some of the wonkish styling. This past fall, we put on Bilstein 5100s to correct the rake, upgraded to some Grabber AT2's on new 16" black TRD rims. Looks sick! The only reason I will not be purchasing one for my own is simply this, it does not have a bed.
But If I could afford two vehicles, it would be the first on my list. :)
