    I'm glad I attended Sturgis once but would never be interested in doing it again. Beautiful area to ride but I'd much rather be there when there aren't 700k or more people there.

    I'm with you. I did I-90 across half of Montana coming/going to Yellowstone a few years ago on the F800GS. Doing 90+ on knobbies on a parallel twin was absolutely miserable and my gas mileage was like 25-30mpg on a 4 gallon tank. Kind of lucky I guess, gave me an excuse to stop once an hour. I was with a group of friends that were in an xterra pulling a trailer and they didn't want to stop unless they had to, I was glad for my small tank at that point. It was truly awful.

    I actually have some new bar-end's and mirrors on order haha

    on that note, I've also considered a new handlebar that sit's lower, but the seating position is already pretty comfortable and I don't know if I wanna mess with that with a more forward position.

    I'm right there with you tbh.

    Granted I've only been on the freeway once so far lol, but going over 75-80 was really only nice in the open, straight stretches where I had no cars around me to worry about. Otherwise, cruising with traffic was A-Ok with me, accelerating only to make space.

    Last year during the peak of COVID when DPS had a mostly no contact policy, only work accidents I got in with a pack of big rigs running west on 290 out of Houston. I was on my chopped Dyna. We were running 95 to 110. I didn’t realize how good those guys could drive big rigs at those speeds. Riding tail gunner at those speeds with no wind I got the best gas mileage ever lol.

    While our roads in Colorado and the Four Corners were never busier than in 2020 and 2021.

    Agreed! Allowed a new rider like me to get comfy! And empty parking lots were everywhere as well! Plenty of lot time uninterrupted! :D

    It’s my understanding the 1200 kit on an 883 is rowdier than a 1200 from the factory because the gear ratios are different in the transmissions that come with either option.

    First post, I did a thing a few days ago. Almost matched the Taco but close enough for me.

    Interesting... I rode an older 883 w/1200 kit and Mikuni carb that ran great, but never been on a stock one for comparison.

    @grdgz97 get on it!

    Absolutely true. I learned how to ride during lockdown, and I was on my Ninja every single day (yes, even in the rain).
    There were very few cars on the road and it was the greatest learning environment ever.
    I think that’s how I ended up putting almost 7,000 miles on the Ninja in 9 months.

    Looks good. What kit did you buy? How is the quality and fit?

    Monster fairings from the UK. Fitment is great OEM I will say. Quality seems great too, the CBR stickers are under the clear coat which to me is better than on top of it. I just order for my year and model and got the bolt kit in blue from them as well. It also includes the dark windshield and seat cowl.

    Looking at the NOCO Genius trickle chargers for the two bikes for this upcoming Winter. Going to order here asap. There’s quite a few models? Do I just go for the top of the line or is there a better bang for the buck. Just need to keep the Chief and Grom happy through the long winter here (May have a couple Dual Sports in the future). Any insights would be awesome. Y’all always know more than I do haha.

    I have a cheap 1.5amp charger that's kept batteries alive for the last ten years. I don't baby them either, it's been used to keep my sleds charged up sitting outside at -40° and gets the job done still on my boat batteries most weekends.
