Question: difference between two TRD Off-Road package option codes (Double Cab)

One TRD package for the double cab is

"TRD Off-Road Extra Value Package:-OCAT ($2870.00)"

The other for the double cab is:

"TRD Off-Road Extra Value Package:-OBCT ($3035.00)"


Sadly, the first one provides the complete list of what it includes on the Toytoa site. However, the second, more expensive one does not provide any details. Since the cost isn't that different, I'm sure it's not a significant difference.

I've searched and not found anything. Anyone know? Thanks.

 

Where are you located?

I ask because that package price is not listed when I go to the Toyota site entering an Ohio zip code.

When I was researching for my Taco, my availability of info was very different than owners in other parts of the country.

Maybe owners from your area can shed light on the package options.

 

I am located in the SE US. That's the region that shows up on the dealer network.

The JBL Option as part of the TRD Off-Road package has a different code (OFBT) and lists for more at $4150.00.

Thanks for the replies. I'm still looking for what OBCT includes. The site is frustrating since some of the "packages" (including this one) have a pop out box with the name and price but no details.

 

Ben, the JBL cost (with the included bluetooth) is around 700 bucks.

My truck is an OR DC with JBL, and my package price was $4500. The next package down the line was $3800.

Something else is going on with his package numbers. But I can't tell you what it is

The packages with those prices only come up on the site after selecting the Tacoma Double Cab with TRD Off Road.

The lower priced package is listed first in the list. You check it and view inventory and get what amounts to an online window sticker once you pick a specific truck. The "OCAT" package has a nice bullet list that matches the printed material.

If you do the same and get down to a specific truck with the slightly more expensive "OBCT" (second Off-Road Extra Value package in the main list where you first start) you will eventually get to another window sticker-like page, you can even click the OBCT item for a pop out window, but it is empty (and the bullet list is not on the main specific vehicle page either).

I know it's probably just an extra doo-dad (technical term there) but it's bugging me.

I also checked the online window stickers for the Double Cab TRD Off-Road Extra Value package with the TX appearance deal added. In both cases of finding a TX vehicle, they both had the second, more expensive TRD Off Road (no details there either).

I've asked the dealer. They've not found anyone there who knows yet. I'm sure they will eventually

 

Trot, I did a google on those packages and it may be an OR without a tow package.

It said they changed some coding and made the tow package stand alone.

I'll dig a little more and see what I find. The info was dated 2007 but it may still apply.

Right. I thought of that but in each case (based on my preferences) all the vehicle details included V6 Tow Package Option (TOBT at $650.00) as well as the more-expensive TRD Off-Road (OCBT at $3035).

So if that is a mistake in Toyota's option codes, you would have people being charged twice for the same option, provided TOBT and OCBT were listed on the same sticker.

I still think that could be it since both codes end in BT. They just shouldn't both be on the same sticker

 

The only difference between the two packages are the wheels and tires. According to the site, you get 275/65R/18s. However, when clicked on, the option isn't able to be selected. Whomever said this particular option is for the Tundra is probably correct.

 

OCAT (less expensive) "Alloy Wheels with P265/70R16 BF GoodrichTires" comes up under the option code list of options.

The problem is that OCBT shows up but you can't get it to show you the specific list of what that contains like all the other listed codes.

I even tried it on an in stock 2011 on my local dealer's site, suspecting that a complete list would be there. It wasn't.

The Tundra TRD Off-Road Extra value code I found was "OFBT" and is $3,110.

I found the "answer" at least for me and in my geographic region. It has more to do with how you use the "build your toyota" feature than anything else.

If you go through the logical steps, step by step, at least in Firefox, the features that are supposed to be grayed out aren't and there are two of some options (2 V6 tow package options, but only one works depending on what else you select, etc, etc,) Yesterday, when I was doing this, after selecting 4WD Double Cab V6 Automatic, there were TWO boxes for the "Off-Road Extra Value Package" (see both option codes in my original post). Now, I can't repeat the error. Now, unlike yesterday, all the scheduled deliveries (1 local, 97 in the region) are listed with the OCBT code priced at $3035.00

Anyway, long story longer. Here is the full list of the "more expensive" TRD Off-Road Extra Value Package: Option code OBCT as it appears online. Now I can't get the other code (OCAT) I was talking about to show up!

Make sure you confirm options with your dealer when you are ordering. Go through exactly what you want by item so that you are on the same page.

I had some of the same issues with the website and it wouldn't surprise me if some things got lost in the black hole between Toyota.com and the dealership purchase order form
