Idaho BS thread in the PNW

I havent been following... but what area are you moving to?

 

We secured an apartment off ten mile rd in Meridian. New complex still being built - the 240’s.

we will be arriving pretty late on the 27th!

 

Nice, you're somewhat-ish near me. Im also in Meridain. A ton of new development out that way.

 

yeah, we noticed! Our top 3 complexes hadn’t finished half their buildings yet. The whole states like this from all I gather. Really nice area though, we’re too pumped.

 

All this talk of moving… I’m really considering moving not sure if I’m guna go east or west from Blaine county.

 

we considered that area, lot of factors pulled us over west of Boise. Is Ketchum as upside down as I’m reading? That’s the town Blackrock bought up and priced out right?

 

Pretty much... Ketchum, Hailey, and Sun Valley....
If you drink pumpkin spice lattes, drive a land rover and wear Uggs... then you'll fit right in.

 

Sad to hear/read but it’s happening all across the country sadly.

Unrelated: who y’all recommend for lift work? Got plans to get that TW special 6112/5160/Dakar ordered by end of October but have no shop lined up.

Yep 10 mile and Franklin! Had to look at the map to confirm lol. I’d definitely be interested in getting some locals assistance. Gonna need some friends in the area to help drink my beers!

 

Ketchum, hailey, sun valley is horrible, if you have the money it’s a nice place but there’s nothing available around here for reasonable housing, gas is 4$, there’s a meh nightlife, and most importantly for myself a 20 year old single guy… there’s no girls that are staying here.

 

All reasons we are not moving there. For sure. Best of luck with your decision..

 

Born and raised in this area but there’s not a lot to keep me here.

 

For us it was too far from any airport, too far from any other major area, a little bit more extreme seasons… Did I mention too far from anything? 25 minutes from Boise airport - can’t beat it.

 

Oh come on there’s a Walmart 70 miles away…

I do recommend coming over, there’s some great food and even better views in the mts but not much for livin here.

 

Have no doubt we will get out there. We bought a taco and moved back to the PNW - we’re ready to get outdoors again. So much beauty to see around there.

 

That's what I love about Idaho. Many places are far from all the hustle and bustle of the modern world. Only fast food in Valley county is subway and I hope it stays that way.

 

We both have family in Sacramento area, I have family near Spokane, and in Austin/Hill Country TX. So for both ease of us traveling and them, being down the road from the airport is a big plus.

We’re both mid 20s with no friends, while night life isn’t our thing with it comes more people in our age range.

Also have some family in Star, would be a shame to move close but not close enough to see them frequently.

 

Small world... I have family in Sac also... pretty much all of my family.
