you know that doesn't come with the tensioner bracket...

I ordered the kit as well and only used a vacuum line and the Auto trans bracket. still have everything else from it.

Update to my crappy gas milage.
Replaced upper and lower stream exhaust sensors
Went from 130 mpg to 175mpg

Just replaced spark plugs and found a loose plug and they all look kinda bad.

Also replaced air filter and spark plug wires. Now ill see how much the mpg improves. I used the FR7 plugs, engine runs smooth and i keep thinking my trucks engine is turned off at stop lights it doesnt make any sound or vibration.

If you want a 160 you might as well just not run a thermostat

another update, total mileage now with new spark plugs, spark plug wires, new exhaust o2 sensors, new air filter. 180 mpg. i am swapping the tires back to road tires and putting the mud tires in storage for winter use.

Also keep in mind i drove the 4runner normally, not engaging the boost.

That's about what I average with mostly city driving, on 33s with steel armor, supercharger etc.

Road tires should help a good bit I imagine, MTs and other heavy E rated all-terrains sure do zap your mileage/power with all that weight at the wheels

I run the 170 thermastrat and my temps are about 180. I just purchased a champion radiator but havent installed it.

My trans temp run about 190 and when driving up the mountain, i see about 210 to 230 trans temp. I want to keep temps down a bit more. This is with a aftermarket trans cooler and i bypass the radiator

For the guys with 03-04 Autos.

I have noticed that my “cold starts” on hot days seem to be a little weird.

97 degrees ambient, coolant sensor showing 100 degrees (seems to be reporting correctly), been sitting for 10 hours. The “cold start” only idles up for a few seconds then settles to near normal idle pretty quick. Is this normal?

In this situation it seems to not run as great as other times for at least my drive home ~15-20min. Maybe the two aren’t related but I do feel it’s sort of odd that it doesn’t go through a cold start procedure.

Ive always hated the wildly inconsistent ETCS-I throttle body/sensors/ECU control over ETCS-I. I don’t think hate is even a strong enough word. I absolutely despise it. The damn thing never seems to give repeatable performance. Pedal feel is never consistent.

Maybe this is just the way it is. Either Toyota tuned to to change for some sort of economy bullshit. Or something is just fucked up enough to not throw a code etc.

Some days it seems to have great response and a peppy feel others it’s seems slightly more lazy.

This really has nothing to do with boost. Per say. It really doesn’t matter if I’m cruising like grandpa or on the pedal. It’s just…inconsistent and maybe the cold start on a hot day is a symptom that something is wonky.
