    Yes, I get that.

My question is, what is preferred at this point for those who played with both; Iridium, Ruthenium or Dilithium?

    I'm running a 2.8", EL Headers and EL Y-pipe.

I appreciate it and that's where I'm leaning.

Replaced iridiums with rutheniums when i had the cam gears installed about 10k miles ago. Didnt noticed a difference with the spark plugs change to the Ruths (then and now).

I ended up ordering the ruthenium's, since the price difference with iridium's was negligible.

The price on the dilithium's was out of this world... :ohsnap:

Has anyone tried a round straight through muffler and a vibrant resonator? Looking for options when I put my EL headers on. I already have a urd ypipe. I know just the magnaflow muffler on my catback isn't going to be enough.

Yep. I have one of those in my for sale thread on here. It's a great muffler as the one I got from them was chambered in between two sections of more traditional straight through perf. The noise is very nice, but loud and still a little resonancy with headers and y pipe in the mentioned frequency. It is better than than a traditional straight through magnaflow. I currently run the Keg muffler with vibrant resonator and it sounds excellent.

I think that muffler with either stock headers or stock y pipe, would sound fantastic.

I’d just make sure you add a resonator or 2 prior to the what ever muffler you choose.

Good advice. Technically a resonator like Vibrant offers is really just a small muffler. There's no magic sauce for tuning frequencies out with them. If you're going for two resonators, might as well just get a single straight through muffler and reduce the components in the system.

    Hey Rob,

I wondered where you have been.

I have a set of cam gears waiting to be installed as well.

We should grab lunch one day.

I'm looking into putting the round magnaflow muffler and possibly a resonator before my muffler on my catback now

So it would go ypipe resonator round muffler then original muffler to the tail pipe. Just looking for someone that's done it in that order by chance.

I've tried a lot of combinations, and that was going to be my next one if needed. Shouldn't be a problem for resonance, and the sound should be in check. Just note that your muffler you linked above is a 4" in and out?

Thanks! I think I'm gonna give it a shot. I may even just get one long round muffler and not do a resonator. Depends on fitment....well off to the garage for some measurements and brain storming.

Scott, it's great to hear from you. Definitely need to get lunch when you're in town.

Long story short; following a major home repair, my wife got sepsis from a surgical infection that nearly killed her. I spent months dealing with that and being a single parent.

Life is almost back to normal now.

I even left the investors (gamblers) thread for a while.

Mine goes headers, y-pipe, to 2 resonators then right into my stainless works turbo muffler, to a chopped tailpipe. Your combo you want to run I’d imagine would work just fine. Prior to adding my 2 resonators. Mine went from the y-pipe , long mid pipe , to muffler. The loud annoying vibration/resonance from 2200-2500ish rpms made my truck completely embarrassing to even drive.

I would have figured that stainless works muffler would have acted like the Keg muffler, they're almost the same type of "turbo" muffler design. Agreed the resonance was embarrassing before I got it sorted out. The power though, that's what kept me in the fight for a toned down setup. It really makes a difference.

I couldn’t tell you how it may have sounded if I didn’t have the stainless works muffler and still had the magma flow from the URD exhaust, perhaps much worse. The 2 resonators are everything though for sure…
