Was that a typo supposed to be C125?
I've heard C80 is bare minimum with C40 being 2hr use that runs out soon, vs 4hr with C80 and so on

Would be going on a MigMax 215

I’m slightly more than a weekend warrior and my 80 lasts me about a month to a month and a half. Granted I usually weld about three days a week so other people might have different mileage.

oh man did not know it lasts 1.5mo at 3day/wk
for starters was just going to use it on 1 job (pivots install) then hopefully keep for any potential future use ("buy right the first time")

only other things I think could be a variable is size and weight but I don't think that will be a problem
-tall big canister, if it still fits on the welding cart, I can just store along wall at work
-big and heavy, still probably not hard to handle. aka move around, take to refill, lift into truck be if needed
Google says 80 cu ft is about 60 lbs and in a non moving big cylinder that sounds like no issue to toss over the shoulder and carry

C25 is the type of gas not the bottle size

    c25 = 75% argon and 25% C02

I think Jason was suggesting you use c25 instead of pure argon

I bought an 80cf tank of C25 (75%argon 25%CO2) from a place local to me when I bought my Titanium 140 planning on only doing small things. (hence the small welder) That was perfect for me until I started my trailer build now I'm burning through it quite fast but that's alright by me because I don't plan to do another major project after this that would warrant keeping a larger tank in my small garage. I bought the tank instead of renting one. The welding shop does trade outs for refills but whatever tank I have at the time is mine to keep if I never wanted to return. They are all head stamped with their company so not sure if another shop would cycle it.

Pics for reference, I have used 2 full tanks of C25 and am about to go get a refill on the 3rd and I will probably need to refill once more before I am done.20210807_202633 - Copy.jpg

    My 1st thaught was
    Ha, ha.

Thats what wht thought when I built my 1st trailer.

I sold the trailer right after I finished it. Wasn't even trying to sell it. Told myself I'll just build myself another trailer. Took me 10 years to actually build a trailer for myself. People kept wanting the trailer I was presently building, so I would sell it.

I've built somewhere around 250 utility trailers in the last 25 years.

So in short, be carefull what you say, it ,may not work out like you think.

I started just wanting to hobby weld/fab and it turned into a side gig that was more like my main gig. I regret nothing. I make good money and its still fun.

I have considered this, my neighbor is loving what I'm building so its only a matter of time till he asks me to build one for him. I keep telling myself trailer #1 is prototype and will never get sold.... until I make trailer 2 and don't need the OG

If I ever get into fab work for other people, which is on the table as a side gig for sure, I would definitely move up to a 220 welder and a bigger bottle. Until that day comes I think I am sticking with what I have.

Then I need to cut and stain the shelves themselves. Wood is too damn expensive.

Cut out this Kobe art and painted it and added some wall hanger hardware to it. Made it for my buddy’s birthday. He is a very big Laker fan and Kobe fan

Funny, I was just doing some design work and took a second to check the thread.

Building a claw bucket for my mini skid steer.

I never know if people want to see some of the stuff I' designing. Belive me being able to now do this is a huge step for this knuckle dragger.

Here is what I just made the Gcode for. I started with the raw design, but had to make it the size I need. I now know this is called scaling.

This what I'm presently doing the design work for. Of corse I only need a grabber bucket for a 32" wide crawler. I needed to scale it down to a more realistic size._Mcs9M_mT_IsWcYCB-XDGrs8p-tVbCtoTF3COy8K_c8c3b1cd916e0c6f9a3b3c67ab9fcf9dd6005aa1.jpg

Just finished up these claw hinges.

    upload_2021-8-12_18-40-20.jpg

I only have 1/4" iron. I'll sandwich 2 together to give me 1/2" thick hinges.

    Yes we very much do!
I feel things like this are the whole point of these "other than trucks" threads, they give people with an interest a place to share.

Even thought I probably have a equal chance at levitating my truck in the driveway than ever making a Gcode there are still things to learn, the seeds of ideas.

    Rock on man!
