Here are the stock lights to compare to.
    1) just fogs
    2) low and fog
    3) high and fog
    4) just high

Please forgive me if I am mucking up your thread.

Almost same spot as yesterday with one of each fog.

I think your DD fog is aimed a bit low.

I am guessing that I need to find a better spot to aim than the 6'3" of my garage. Here's how I've got them set up now. Original fogs beam comes out of the housing at 23.5" so the tape on the walls bottom edge is 22.5" and fog is adjusted to there. The DD's beam starts at 24.5" and is adjusted to the top of the tape, 23.5"

I will work on finding a longer distance. Sincere question, not an argument trying to be right. Given the above numbers they're both dropped an inch from where they started. If the DD is low wouldn't that make the stock one low too?

Since it's going to take removing the bumper to get this one out to put the OEM one back in or switch to the clear lenses I decided to stick the other one in and see if I can learn to like them.

I'm definitely the odd ball here since I didn't (don't) think these are great and am a F150 guy on a Tacoma forum. Definitely do appreciate the respect and help I've been shown. Thank you.

Interesting. Which model (Sport, Pro or max) did you get? Even the Sport should be at least equal to OEM and the other two should be significant upgrades. My Pros blew away my OEM Toyota LED fogs and the Max's that replaced them are better yet.

Hmmm. Should be light years ahead of the OEM fogs.

One thing you will find is that due to the tight beam pattern, proper aim is critical. Bring them up a bit and see what happens.

We definitely agree on the 1st part. I will raise them up but will not be able to compare since both Maxes are in

My one tidbit here, I own both yellow max (Tacoma) and white max (minivan). The white looks much brighter to my eyeballs. I also know not to trust my eyeballs.

The white is significantly brighter. The white peaks at 18,000 candela while the yellow maxes out at 12,500. Heavier filtration losses due to the single color 6000K chips and darker yellow optic. That's why I'm still on the fence about upgrading from the yellow pro to the max. Diminishing returns for the money.

Edit: here are the comparisons for yellow SS3s, including links to the data sheets. Courtesy of DD.

The pro has a larger pattern and 10,900 candela intensity, while the max increases to 12,500 but with a smaller overall pattern.

    Thank you for that.

My opinion is going to be in the minority but if you are happy with your yellow pros I definitely wouldn't swap them out for yellow maxes

I can be a freaking idiot at times and this may be one of those times. Before I post the latest pictures with both Maxes in I'm going to come right out and say I don't like these very much. I truly know that the yellow or warmer lights let you see things better in less than perfect conditions than a cool white light but I don't like the look, even though it seemed like it was easier on my eyes with the yellow light on. 2nd, aesthetics matter, it's why I got a Platinum instead of an XLT or lariat. I hate the way the dark yellow lense looks in the bumper. Stupid but true. 3rd, I didn't want to see anything remotely close to the stock fog shinning over the $500 replacement fog lights. For that kind of money it should have been a blowout in the brightness. Now the pictures, my eyes don't see things as brightly as the phone camera shows but the comparison is accurate. I think I have them a bit high now but I did not get flashed on the way home. 2 set of pictures fog only, low and fogs and then high beams with fogs. I meant to take a low beam only pic but somehow the auto lights went to highbeam. I think the pictures might prove I'm an idiot and should learn to like these.

One other reason I HATE the yellow lights. My wife is pretty clueless to anything mechanical but there's no way on God's green earth she won't notice those the 1st time they're on. Good thing she can't get on my PayPal account.

So you don’t like the yellow or you’re not impressed with the brightness/pattern?

The photos look great to me. If you can’t get used to the yellow I’d try some clear lenses. Or maybe try using them in poor weather conditions first, where I think you’ll find they really excel.

Lens swap? I am quite happy with white on the vehicle my wife drives. Like you say, yellow would be noticed but she didn’t even realize the white MAX was a replacement vs OEM.

I may go white on the Tundra as well if I can get to that point. Not every vehicle needs to be maxed out for truly miserable weather. Good to have options.

Maybe it's just me, but those look pretty darned impressive. In fact I might be tempted to bring them up just a smidge (that's a technical term) more.

I did copy / quote the wrong picture though. I meant to use the next one.
