I have a 2020 Taco that I purchase for $45200 last July. My dealer sent me 2021 prices and my truck has gone up $10,000. That is just crazy, they are pricing their trucks out of the average persons price range.

Sell it back then and let the dealer have it sit on the lot. Is it a PRO?

Yup been going on since shortages of chips . If you look at the prices of new vehicles you wouldn’t make that much out of it .

It was out of the avg persons range at 45k.

    Not to mention overpriced.

Inflation is a mean mistress. And there is much much more to come.

I love it. Hopefully this will help elevate used Tacoma prices for years to come.

It was an internal struggle for me to like your post but this is spot on. Everything I've seen has indicated that prices are to continue rising.
Unfortunately it's not exclusive to Tacoma's. If it were, I'd be selling mine for a clean 1st gen or an F150 Lightning.

Unfortunately I had to pay $2k over MSRP for my '21 SR5 4x4 DCSB. They were asking more than that as a "market adjustment". I had planned to wait until Spring to buy one but saw the writing on the wall. Not the deal I wanted at all, but I think it would have been worse with the 22s. Plus, any 4x4 on the lot for more than 1 or 2 days in my area of NC is unheard of.

Yea, well 'like' often really means 'agree with' I think.

I don't 'like' it, and I wrote it.

$2k more is bad but not too bad at this time. Just work a couple more hours of overtime to take care of that.

Some of the SoCal dealers are still marking up $10k on any 4x4 Tacoma. People are actually paying it too!

I sold my 2020 TRD OR ACLB in June for $42.6k and last Friday just picked up a 2021 TRD OR DCSB for a few hundred less than that OTD.

So price is in CAD with 13% sales tax for context. The problem is supply and demand. Here in Alberta the Toyota lots are lucky to even have a physical Taco on the lot. They are asking $50k-$54k CAD for used Sport Premiums because of it. Sure glad I bought mine when I did in June 2020. Paid $45k for a Sport premium including TRD skid plate and weather tech floor mats.

I'm not super savvy on the car buying terminology, but the dealer I bought all my Tacomas through sells at invoice.

My newest Off-road was MSRP $45,600 and I got it for around $40,000. Not sure if this is them jacking up one price to make their prices look better, or if its a genuinely good dealership.
