Air Conditioning *Blows*

Relatively new to the site with a 2021 tacoma OF.

Are these gens (or all Tacomas?) known for having terrible air conditioning or low fan power? I sold my 2000 4runner that blew you away with how strong the fan was and how cold the AC was. My new tacoma... not so much. Fan sucks and doesnt get as cold as my 4runner. Is this normal?

I test drove two separate Tacomas but never really tested the AC because I didnt even think to living in a colder climate.

I have a dog and i didnt even realize there was no back seat vents... how is that possible? The combo of the terrible AC and no back seat vents leaves him dying if the window is closed.

 

Umm sounds like you have a ac issue I have to turn up my temperature so it doesn’t get to cold . I live in Arizona where it’s hot like a mofo .

 

My truck will hold about 34* on the freeway with plenty of fan power. Check cabin air filter and blower motor for debris.

 

Mine does great. After baking in 105 degree heat all day it takes roughly 10-12 minutes of driving to get it back down to a comfortable cabin temp, mid 70's or so. That's on par with any other vehicle I've owned.

Yeah no rear vents. I’ve got an access cab so the back windows don’t even open. But my dogs are fine; the AC is super cold.

Maybe stick a thermometer down the vent and measure a temp?

Um, test drive next vehicle please. Why you complaining here? We cannot add rear vents. Everyone has different opinion on temperature. Good luck.

 

Take it to the dealer have them fix it or tell you thats normal

 

I'm in Arizona too where summer temps easily hit 100 by 9:00 a.m. and 110+ in the afternoon. I set mine to 74 degrees and the fan
speed on the number 1 setting. I may bump it up to the #2 or #3 setting for a bit but it pretty quick gets set back to #1. Then again
I set my house temp to 79 and only drop it to a freezing 77 at around 10:00 pm for sleeping.

 

I live in south Florida and never use MAX A/C. I don’t need to… I have a white truck and always use windshield shade..

 

both my 14 and 17 TRDOR's were meat lockers and my 19 T4R was as well and 21 T4R now can hang meat....

 

What are you a lizard person? god damn I hate when my roommate sets it to 75 at any point. 72 or below only

 

Well my meat's hangin but not cuz its cold. Will check cabin air filter and blower motor and then muster the strength to get to the dealership if no success.

 

I have vents under the front seats that blow in the back, but have to turn knob to add foot vents up-front.
As far as temp, mine will freeze people out
