Yankees - White Sox Field of Dreams game is entertaining, watching home runs hit into the cornfield lol
Yanks just came from behind to take the lead 8-7, top of the 9th.

Update: White Sox win in bottom of the 9th, 9-8!

Now 75-41(.647), 6 straight series wins and 7 of 9 since the break. Hmm, seven of nine sounds hot. Worst month was still 15-10 (.600) and not below .500 since 2-3 start. 46 to play, tick tock, tick tock Dodgers. Padres in danger now of losing the #2 wild card spot.

Last nights game was great glad yanks took both.

Too bad blue jays are floundering. :annoyed: Jay’s need to clinch this wildcard with some wins.

2 more series wins this week. Dodgers aren’t going away but then neither are the Giants. Epic homers in the ninth yesterday and the eighth today to come from behind and steal the series from the A’s. 18-7 since last series loss in July. The Mets have Baez back and will probably get Lindor as well for the series in NY on Tuesday. Start of 16 days in a row, Mets, Braves, home against the Crew and Dodgers, then back on the road for the Rockies before the next off day.

Weird game with the pop up play. And that’s twice now Bryant has uncorked an unforced wild throw from 3rd, both times in a game in which he also homered. But another series win with a possible sweep mañana anyway.

I thought the extra inning rules would lead to teams getting more proficient at small ball on demand but not only have the Dodgers /Padres not gotten any extras they haven’t even been able to get the initial placement run home. A lead off walk has a better chance of scoring on average than this. No wonder LA has such a poor extra inning record. Not saying the Giants are any better, just surprised that this opportunity is so poorly made use of. Are any teams doing better at this? What’s the league average?

Well, take the highs where the lows allow . . .

Salvy hit back to back grand slams the last 2 games [another record] and a measly solo today. He is 1 away from the AL HR record for catchers with a month to go. I like his chances on that one too.

How this particular Royals team goes from practically unbeatable to why are they on a MLB ball diamond? o_O

    No ideas . . .

I at least like our chances to get back to .500 unless we go back to the "what sport are we supposed to be playing" team.

Logan Webb is legit, 2 ER’s or less in last 13 starts. Yaz brings back the ‘stache and brings home the bacon. I love watching Crawford play SS.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Don't know about the extra runner being the key here, but Seattle and SF are leading the way in RBIs in extras. But lots of variables to consider. How many extras they've played is the main one.

I thought that there would’ve been more of an emphasis on small ball or productive outs and quality relievers and that the teams that were most proficient would get a few extra wins over the long haul. But I’m still seeing swing-for-the-fences. I can understand that more from the road team but not from the home team after holding serve in the top half.

Says the Giants have most of their extra innings from the road. But I still think they're going for the home run.

Want to find stats on it, but hard to do that.
