I agree, I was happy to get $500 off MSRP, although I’m used to playing hard ball and getting 8-10k off a Ford or GM truck..

    Supply and DEMAND I guess…

LOL… COVID times and dealers worried about sitting trucks is long gone when you got yours. That was a fearful dealer who let it go and still made a profit and was worried it wouldn’t sell. If your so confident I would like you to call around and use your negotiation tactics and show us how it’s done.

It was pre-Covid times. January of last year. So no fear of trucks sitting on the lots. But I agree times were different then, than now.
But I'll never complain. My negotiating skills got me $3500 off MSRP on my Pro at the time. :D

Some negotiating power with the finance manager if you wanted to compare Penfed's rates which are good again.

60m new truck 1.9, 72m 2.39 or use their buying service and get a percentage less so .99

    Good afternoon everyone,

It's a pleasure to be apart of the community. Below is my sale, how this group likes it. A few things I'd like to mention: Thank you tremendously to everyone who has contributed regularly over the past few months. I joined in early May, stayed silent, patient and read meticulously. I am aligned with most purchases over the past few months, which made me feel reassured in my purchase price. Also, to those that have been or are waiting, know that I have been there with you in silent solace all along. Keep going if your waiting, it's all worth it.

Side note, I thought about the Costco program, didn't investigate too much, didn't pull the trigger through them, even though I'm a member. If I'm a sucker oh well. It's my money and I'm perfectly happy with how I spent it. (Every time I get in my taco, I giggle like a little girl. Some of you know what I mean.) I got the EXACT TRUCK I wanted. I was NOT accommodating on any option. I was not willing to let Costco discount pricing jerk me around or even potentially skew the sale. So, i paid full MSRP through the dealer. Thrilled to have what I wanted. Financed partially through USAA. Excellent credit rating. Unbeatable rate, didn't cross shop. Dealer was not interested and didn't ask. Just thought some of you would like to know. It does not have to be a difficult process. Happy hunting to those still searching!

    1. Year, trim, color, transmission, bed: 2021, TRD Off-Road, Barcelona Red, V6 AT, DCSB,

    2. MSRP (before dealer add-ons): $43,530

    3. Options: TRD Premium Off-Road, Advanced Tech, LED headlights/fogs w/Black Bezel

    4. Cost of add-ons: $604 (Wheel locks $149, Clear Bra $485. I agreed and let them add these,) (I picked up parts to add/install later on my own during July 4th sale, about $1500, MSRP would have been 2.2K)

    5. Price before Tax Title License (TTL) including incentive/rebate: $45,309

    6. Discount: 1-(#5/#2)*100=% off MSRP): N/A

    7. Incentive (rebate/customer cash): NA

    8. Price Out The Door (OTD): $49,865

    9. Trade in vehicle(year, make, model, trim): N/A

    10. Kelley blue book trade-in value: N/A

    11. Trade allowance(amount given for trade): N/A

    12. Date purchased: Deposit on 5/10/21, built on 7/19, picked up from dealer on 7/26

    13. State purchased: Colorado

I'd buy a Pro Today for $47,000 OTD or take an F150 at 12,000 off MSRP.

Since you have the remote start you can also use the remote as well.. just hit the lock on the fob 3x but on the third press hold it for 10 or so seconds the lights should blink on the truck and it should start. I have a 2021 with the same app thing and I have poor cell reception at work so at times I use the fob to start the truck

Wife and I just picked up our new '21 OR with the premium package. Very Nice! MSRP with a few hundreds off and TFS lowest rate. Not the best deal compared to my first '17 tacoma, but these are different times.

*we were in an accident a few weeks ago in our '17 tacoma. Happy to be back in another.

What's the state of the pre-owned market? Same or worse. Was thinking of going up to a 21 or waiting on the 22 Tundra if the drivetrain options are right.

Wow, thanks! I was unaware of them. Approved for 60m 1.99%. Great tip, much appreciated!

unrelated: All, I put down a deposit for one In Freight via phone today but haven’t received any documentation or card swipe—is this normal?

    Yeah.
When I put down my deposit it didn't show up on my Credit card "notification" thingy until the next day (capital one).
I'm not going to say everything is OK, but it isn't unusual.

Used prices are wayyy up still (at least they seem to be in the northeast). For reference, in June I traded in my 2019 TRD OR and the dealer gave $38k for it. They have it listed for $40,987. Original MSRP was $39k.

That is correct, any toyota with audio plus and above has the remote connect services. This vehicles also have the remote start on the key fob, you have to press the lock button 3 consecutive times and hold it on the third one. Once the lights start to flash you can let it go and will start it up. Same thing as the remote connect once you open the door the car will shut off.

Should have specified that did not include sales tax and registration fees (so not OTD...that would have been nutso). I bought out of state and hassled with paying the man after the fact. Starting MSRP has increased, I received a $1k manufacturer discount from Toyota, and dealership discount. On average, vehicles in KC were a couple thousand higher than STL across the board...not sure why that was. Two dealers in my town quoted $46k before any dealer fees, and without any added accessories. I'd been checking Toyota inventory in a 250 mile radius every few days for months, found my vehicle including all packages I wanted (and some accessories i didn't really care about), and had to manually track it down and drive there. Figured that would still be faster than me getting it on order....and cheaper.

Not sure what other deets you're looking for.

I dont think that is true. In Florida before covid, dealers would start off with a 2-3k discount advertised on their website. Some had even more of a discount. I know this as I shopped for almost 2 years for a taco as that is how long it took me to finally not be so cheap and spend the money on one. I'd never spent more than 28k on a vehicle so 35 plus didnt seem worth it for a tacoma. I ended up buying my Off road in August 2020 when toyota lots were empty trying to catch up from the plant shut down of 2 months and I got 4k off of msrp. Didn't have to haggle much as they started with a 3k discount.
