Fuck. That really sucks, man. I know it must be brutal on you to watch it happen and have to think about losing such a young pup.

Farmers does my home, all vehicles except the motorcycle, and my business. Have never found a better insurance company.
Several months ago i inadvertantly backed into a BMW, dealer tags and all, fucked it up good. Taco was unscathed.
Farmers paid, no questions, and ironically my monthly rates went down two months later. I think it was a coincidence that my rate lowered because I've been a customer for over 20 years.

I've been with State Farm for 25 years. My rates just go up even though I've never made a claim (other than a roof for the house)

Crazy! I’ve been with State Farm for 28 years and have never experienced any of this with them. Had an auto claim last year and rates didn’t go up, actually went down. They are always quick to respond and I’ve never had to fight them over anything. There was a disagreement with a home claim a few years ago, but they ultimately made it right with little effort or arguing from me. Still hate insurance companies, but SF has always been great to me. Have auto, home and an umbrella policy with them.

I’m 42 and have had State Farm since I was 15. Never had a wreck, but have had several windshields, front and back, replaced since Ive been in CO. Also had that hailstorm claim. My rates have not gone up after any of those things.

Also got a new roof for free after a tornado came through my yard back home.

My auto rates keep going up because they’re adjusting the rates in my area based on other vehicles hail damage claims and potential for more hail damage claims.

It’s as if they don’t want to have to dip into the premiums to pay out claims

And in 25 years I’ve had one speeding ticket, no accidents, and two windshields replaced.

I do have to admit that my policy is probably at least 50 years old. When I turned 16, my parents transferred their policy over to me and opened a new one for them in an effort to keep my rates lower due to age of policy. I’ve never needed to change because, even consulting a broker, I’ve never found a better deal for the amount of coverage I have. As far as hail, Ft. Collins is just as prone to it as the rest of the state. I’ve had 3 hail claims (two others times I didn’t even file), who knows how many windshield claims, one home claim due to flood (accidental) caused by my ex, one claim on my sports car that my ex wrecked . Never had a crazy increase in rates. It’s just funny to me how much it can vary customer to customer. Not an advertisement for how great SF is, just my personal experience. YMMV.

All this insurance rates talk makes me miss what Alaska's was. I only had the Tacoma insured and when I moved back it was triple the cost here just for the truck :(

I use a broker for all my insurance needs - a few years ago they re-wrote my policies to "preferred customer" when I told them I was looking to move on. Rates have not gone up since. Just waiting for home rates to go up based on property valuations. Gonna be a shocker since values have nearly doubled (replacement costs) since I moved to current location 5 years ago.

    Beer soon?

Sorry Murph. It sucks. I just went through this with one of my loves.

You will always do the right thing. And your pup will love you even more for it.
