    Yup :D.
The girl I work with that has a KelTec can put it in the back pocket of her jeans and you can't see it. She's a bigger stature than I am, but I wear jeans probably 99% of the time and I'm sure I could figure out a way to carry it comfortably either in my rear pocket or and in-waist holster. I'm sure there will be times when I'll put it in a purse and when doing that I'll wear the purse strapped across my body instead of hanging from a shoulder.
I'm not going to carry all the time, just when I'll be going places other than my routine. There are times when my bf tells me to take my gun with me or us and I don't because I can't comfortably carry it, so that is why I started looking into it recently. I have a gun in my truck, but what good is that when I'm at a rest stop at night and letting my dogs out for a pee break lol.
It will be a little while before I buy one also, I'm looking for something cheap and will check out what I can find used at some of the local gun stores. I talked with a gun-nut at my work and he told me where to look for a deal.
I'm sure you will figure out what works for you both, classes are a great idea!

Keep us posted (or Pm me or whatever) on what you end up going with.

We're heading off to a gun show tomorrow.
No paticular interest other than looking. Ya never know what kind of deals you can run into. :D

I have a kel-tec 9mm. Its nice fits in your pocket and cheap. Its not very fun to shoot, kicks harder than my XD 40 and the grip tears up your hand. I would recommend it for CC.
On another note last night at a resturant in Kingwood a guy droped his CC out of his coat pocket and the gun went off and hit an older women. Sad, I just hope this doesnt give CC a bad name.

I carry every day, but I would never even THINK about pulling it or showing it. My dad always taught me, "don't point a gun at someone unless you are going to kill them." Pulling out a gun to show you've got it is never a good idea. It just causes trouble.

Nice thing about where I live is there is no law governing CC. Anybody who wants to can carry. Barring children and felons of course.

Unloaded? What good is an unloaded gun? That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of.

its because the black panthers marched on the capitol in the 70's the law was a response to fears of armed black men....the law has racist roots like 99.99999% of all gun control

The only time I have actually cleared my holster in preparation for self defense was during a road rage incident. My lane was ending and all traffic was merging. I needed over as my lane was almost gone, I notice a long line of traffic beside me and the only space was next to me. I sped up to get over, and so did the car next to me as if to block me from getting over. My lane was gone so I came over anyway and squeezed my way in.

He got pissed that he couldn't run me into the emergency lane so he rode my ass for about a half a mile weaving back and forth. I was thinking, shit! my bad now get over it. We got to the bottom of a hill and he proceded to pass me in the emergency lane throwing rocks and debris everywhere and pulled in front of me then slammed on the brakes! Came to a complete stop and so did I. He got out. I slowly backed up and he started bact toward my car, I let him get some distance and I floored it around him.

Well, wouldn't you know it, he caught up...quickly. I figured at this point he may try to follow me all the way to work and I knew I had two stop signs ahead so I drove cautiously and tried to time it so that I would not have to come to a complete stop...I did not want to trap myself in my own car in traffic.

Keep in mind, he has caught up and is still tailgating me like crazy. Not the typical tailgate, the coming within inches, backing off, speeding up, swirving, etc... As I come up to the first stop sign, I notice a few cars in front of me and so I decided to lean over and I pulled a .357magnum snubnose revolver from my holster and put it in my lap. If the car wasn't a manual trans. I would have kept it in my hand. I came to a very quick stop and I was off. Came up the the second sign and the same thing, I was very quick getting through it. Then I came up to a T intersection, I went south, he finally broke off and went north.

I had quite an adrenaline dump. I was shaking and watching my rearview for a while. Yeah, I should have called the police but I had tunnel vision at the time. I was only 19(we can carry here at 18) So live and learn. Not a crazy story, but it shows how something as dumb as someone's road rage can get out of hand. Had he cornered me in my own car and tried to hurt me, he would have gotten shot for something so stupid. You just never know what will happen when you walk out the door. I choose to carry every single day, it's my choice and no body knows I have a gun or guns on my but me. There are just a few close friends and family members that also know.

    New question for ya.....
Although, I might get chewed out for this question based on the 'duh' factor - but I'm new to this and I don't have a lifestyle (or live in an area) that has a higher chance for criminal activity.

Do you conceal with a loaded mag & round in the chamber? Safe on?
Do you conceal with a loaded mag & no round in chamber? Safety off?
    Or....??

Being NEW to this, I wouldn't be comfortable at all ....carrying full mag, round in chamber & safety off.

The only safety on my SIG is my trigger finger. And I carry with a round chambered all the time. What is the point in concealing it if you have to rack a round into it when you want to use it....Gives up all the element of surprise.

I've got a lot of faith in the SIG fire control group and seriously doubt it's possible for it to randomly fire unless I do something wrong holstering or drawing it.

x2 having to pull and rack is to much time and could cost you. most guns have a thumb safty but others do not and if you are not 100% confident in your ability to safely carry a weapon, loaded or not, you should not carry because you could be a danger to your self and others

    Janster,
I carry fully loaded with 17+1 Speer gold dots +P and safety on. I feel comfortable like that and do not want to have to remember to rack my slide back if I ever have to draw. Its something you should train for also. Nextime your at the range or doing the airsoft thing, practice going from a draw and getting a few shots off on the target.

my safety is not putting my booger hook on the bang switch.....carrying without a round in the chamber is like carrying a rock

I carry a Sig - no safety - no round in the chamber...I figure the time it takes me to cycle the weapon is the second I need to evaluate the threat and determine if I really want to shoot....cause once the lead leaves the barrel you can't pull it back...

If I don't have time to cycle the slide I probably wouldn't have had time to draw anyway...

I carry a glock (no safety) with a round in the chamber. If you have to pull it there is no guarantee there is time to rack it. Glocks only go off when you pull the trigger, but with any gun, you never put your finger in the finger guard until you are ready to fire, they teach you that in pistol 101. ;)
