I have a stock 2012 Tacoma double cab (non JBL) and I get no audio through any speakers except my tweeters. I checked the connection to all speakers and plugs on the radio. If anyone has any experience on this issue I could use some help

Hmm..did you check with a meter? Guessing so..

Do you have another speaker of some kind to try a jury rig method?

A friend told me to check the speakers themselves because a bad one may cause them to all not work? Going to use a couple of wires and a battery to see if they all pop when connected.

For the non-JBL I would think you would lose the entire door at a time usually. Though it's possible your mid speakers went at the same time, of course.

What I did was take a speaker and a couple of wires. Don't have to install the test one, just wire to the plugs and see if it works or not

Will test for bad speakers/connections again using that method and report back

Remove that working tweeter and use it to test each speaker output from the back of the radio to confirm if you need a new HU versus faulty wiring.

Did you just buy this truck or did the speakers suddenly stop working?

Have you changed or messed with any of the radio equipment since you took ownership of it?

Check all your fuses to include the one(s) in the back of the radio and possibly internally?

Seeing as the speaker is powered by the tweeter the only possibilities are the tweeter itself, wiring in the door, or a bad speaker. Or a speaker is shorted and killing the rest.

Thanks everyone for all the help. This is my first thread. After using a test speaker I have determined that all of my speakers are no longer functioning. I am now going to purchase replacements. I will post again with a final result.

FWIW - you aren’t losing much. You’ll be happier with new ones anyway!

Are you planning any other upgrades in the future to the system?

I replaced everything in mine if you need any guidance or thoughts

I had to fix the window which included removing the speaker to reach a bolt. The speaker wire connection was quite rusted. I think a little moisture gets in there when you roll the window down when it is wet. Just something else to check

as said and shown above, the tweeter powers the speakers.

I called Crutchfield and they set me up with two front two-ways and two rear two-ways... Bypassed the tweeters up front.

Once I finally grab that POS Entune unit by the neck and rip it out, I'll upgrade everything. But I'm pleased with the Infinity upgrade I did for now.

I replaced the stock speakers with Rockford fosgate punches. Everything is working and it sounds pretty good fellas. Even went out into the mountains this evening and found some other Tacoma’s overland camping in the mountains. Gotta get my rigged decked Out! Also kinda looking at the Chinese joying head unit? Thoughts?
