What to get the wife for her bday?

no massage because COVID or because pregnancy? If it's because she's pregnant, some spas have maternity massages that are legit amazing. If it's because covid, then I second the foot massage.

 

Apparently when pregnant anything besides a light massage on the back, could stimulate the birthing... and shes only like 18 weeks, so dont wanna risk that.

Hmmm..this is a toughie. I can relate b/c my wife rarely ever wants anything and is very thrifty, doesn't dig jewelry either.

Nice dinner out someplace she likes but hasn't been in a while is one idea.

Perhaps some comfy shoes just for hanging around the house. I've never lived with anyone who was pregnant but trust me the back will be thankful for comfy shoes later on from what I've heard.

Not a massage but if she likes heating pads, I bought my wife one she loves. Cost a few bucks but since she has chronic back issues it's well worth it.

Ah gotcha. In that case a date night might be nice. When I was at that stage it was still nice to get out and about (before my feet got swollen to twice its size lol).

 

Take her on a vacation before the baby comes and pay for a massage as a surprise. I did that for my wife when our second was due, she was very happy with it.

I'd go for a nice night out on the town, super nice dinner somewhere, her favorite place maybe.. What I have learned over the years is that NOTHING is mandatory other than the card. Make sure you get a card! Did I mention that you must get her a card?!

 

This thread reminds me of the time I stood in the checkout line with a scoop shovel. The gal behind me asked about it and I told her it was an anniversary present for the wife. She disapproved.

 

In full seriousness (a rarity for me yes but)..

If my wife asks for something particular for an occasion, I get it for her and don't ask any questions. She wanted a blender once. I said "OK, anything else?" "No, just a blender"

My wife is a very practical lady and isn't into buying clothes, jewelry, etc. She got her blender and was very happy.

 

Look into a Pre-Natal massage, it's a thing and there are masseuses/places that specialize in it. My wife loved them when she was pregnant, especially later in the pregnancy

There are also pre-natal yoga classes that help with the physical/emotional pregnancy stress if she's into that kind of thing.
