I like boats. Rowboats, sailboats, motorboats, kayaks, canoes, pangas, catamarans, dinghies, and I like vehicles with a manual transmission.
But if your upset you got an AT and realize you should’ve gotten an MT, well then you have a right to be upset. Just don’t take it out on the defenseless boats.

I put an aftermarket electric fan on a previous vehicle. I was OK until it failed in hot weather and I had to run the heater on full. I didn't notice any performance increase. Fortuneatly I saved the original fan and put it back on.

When researching I found quite a few here on TW saying they noticed no power increase, as well as some having cooling issues who swapped back to the original fan so you’re not alone there.

Why?... Because I like to party....

Sarah-n-Tuned summed it up pretty succinctly in her review of the 2021 manual Tacoma on youtube.

I have a couple of family members who think I'm crazy for spending so much money on a new vehicle with a manual transmission, especially with the traffic we have here.
Common statements are how much work it is to drive and how hard it will be to resell....
If driving is a chore and your biggest concern is resell, you most likely bought the wrong vehicle.
Despite all of the annoyances I find with my Tacoma, I'm still grateful Toyota gave me this option. I enjoy driving, and I enjoy driving it.
There are plenty of reasons to want an automatic. The only one that has any meaning for me is in very technical off road situations, but I never find myself in those and they can be managed with a little clutch wear.

I catch plenty of flak for loving my manual.. People who don't understand it seem to feel obligated to point out all the reasons an automatic is better (for them).
I don't feel it necessary to convince anyone a manual is better. It has its advantages and its disadvantages. I love it despite those disadvantages..
That's what true unconditional love is right? I find I'm more intrigued by a riced out econobox hatchback with a clutch than the new mid engine vette with a button... It's just how I'm wired.
Don't get me wrong, a C5 with pop up headlights and three pedals quickly gets my attention.

I guess my position on it would be, if you've never driven a manual, do yourself a favor and force yourself to learn. You can still find a few out there cheaply... for now.
If by the time you're confident you can drive it and you still don't like it, at least you had an experience you wouldn't have otherwise known....
However, if it turns out you're one of us.. you'll know.

"If driving is a chore and your biggest concern is resell, you most likely bought the wrong vehicle."

If a person feels like ^^^^ they are a great candidate for the self driving car.

Driving is about the only thing left that I do for enjoyment. :burnrubber:<<< my spirit :turtleride: <<< my actual driving :)

My next vehicle will be self-driving if only for the mundane trips I don't gain any pleasure from. Driving on the highway, basically. It will probably be a Tundra that tows my Supra or Tacoma so I can keep those on hand for when I want to drive.

I have a first gen but I specifically got a stick over an auto so it can apply here. Many find it surprising that I can even drive manual at 16, and I thank my grandfather for trusting me with 400 horsepower of Corvette to learn at 13. My parents, and frankly everyone I told said that it would get boring after a while but 3 months and 1100 miles in I wouldn't have it any other way. I personally think my truck drives more like a modest sports car than a truck (1st gens are very tossable in part due to their small size and relatively light weight).
For me this truck with the manual was the perfect combination of a fun little sports car, the reliability of a Toyota, and the utility of a truck. Or at least as close to perfect as it can be.. if you ask me, the manual makes it perfect :)

Have you ever caused an accident on the public roadway while driving stick?

Have you ever been on the receiving end of an accident on the public roadway caused by a driver with an auto?

Just curious what the correlation would result in.
