Likely scenario, but I've also seen ½-ton trucks with 3⁄4-ton and even 1-ton axles before...

Totally possible too, my truck is a heavy half, Big Ten, 6400gvwr but still a 1/2 ton somehow haha. The upgrade is mostly just more leafs, hydro boost brakes, and larger rear drums with thicker front rotors

Yeah, thought I posted pics of it in your thread already. 1978 C10 Big 10 Silverado, pulled it out of a field, hasn't seen the road since 01

    2021-08-10_05-43-23.jpg

Its a rare Silverado with the Diesel (Oldsmobile 350 diesel). So I'm tossing that in the trash since it's actually scrap and I've got a built 454 BBC bottom end coming from an engine building buddy. In the meantime I've been hand porting some heads for it and I've got a new intake, carb, and cam set for it.

I've only seen one truck that came from the factory of the Olds 350 diesel before, and the owner tossed it in favor of a 350...

Yup a common occurance, cause the Olds 350 diesel was good for a max of 20k before it lost so much compression it was useless.

    Truth.

Serious extra points if you can figure out what car the edge of the fender is from in the picture of my intake on the last page.

That’s the first 1x6” pine tonneau cover I’ve seen so far this summer.

Definitely looks like a GM product of some sort; Wheels appear to be from a 1979ish Malibu...
