    Take some pics of the pump, maybe the last owner did it for you. But that sound is totally normal after shutting off the engine.

    I bought the filter for this mod, but when I took it apart the factory sponge filter was in excellent condition. Some have experienced this sponge/foam filter drying out and pieces going into the pump. Remedy is to remove that sponge and put a little filter on the exterior. Theres a thread on it here somewhere. Someone should link it for you.
