I don’t cook commercially and don’t deal with corrosion. I just want to upgrade from my junior and the pro doesn’t seem to check all of the boxes for me. It’s hard to for me to justify spending that much if it doesn’t hit all of the marks for me. The sucky thing is that the one that checks all of the boxes is nearly 1.5 times as expensive

Look into the RecTeq, don't fall for scam website.

I saw some of their adds? Have you been able to compare one to a traeger? How did you feel about it?

I bought a Zgrill 1000E, for $599 no tax, great reviews, wish I had a bit more smoke from it, but otherwise great lazy man's smoker and really great reviews from Amazon, Tractor Supply, Lowes etc.. the 1000 comes in 4 different variations but has 4.3+ stars.

I researched for months, the RecTeq is the only grill under $2000k with stainless inside, and has phenomenal reviews, they used to sell them on Amazon, but they now sell direct I guess to maximize profits, they have outstanding customer service as well and good warranty. The only reason I did not buy was I split my time between house and farm, and I could buy 3 of the Zgrills for a price of a RecTeq. The Zgrill does not have wifi, which doesn't matter to me, the meat probes I use do, and usually I mess with the temperature 1 or 2 times max anyways.

And I think Recteq are made better than traeger. Zgrills used to make grills for traeger, not sure if they still do, but some look awfully close.

I have not tried a different brand of pellets so that has some play into the variable as well.

Picked this up yesterday off Facebook. Their $350 new. Guy said he only used it twice. He originally was asking $250, had dropped it to ,$200, I offered him $150 and he accepted.

happens all the time. People buy them and don’t realize how to use them or that it’ll take 12 hours. Sell them cheap after only a few uses. Actually - now is about the season for it, everyone buys them in the early summer late spring, especially Father’s Day, and then sells them off mid to late summer or early fall to get rid of it before the winter.

score one for the good guys. Nice grab.

thats how I got my BGE, a guy got it for a wedding present and used it once, 500.00 for over a grand in equipment. Got lucky and checked Craigslist at the right time. guy said he had 20 calls between when I called him and an hour later when I picked it up.

Just chiming in here…I live in Augusta where rectec is headquartered and their customer service is amazing from what I hear. I have several friends with them, and we have two at work (including a BFG lol). My new neighbor has a traeger that he loves, definitely seems like a decent grill. But, if I were going to dive into pellet grills it’d be a rectec. Everything from the 700 & up are built like tanks.

Yup, and I still may end up getting one and bring the Zgrill to the farm. From my research, they are the grill to buy, if your spending less $2k on a grill, I especially like the stainless insides.

Took advantage of the Shun factory sale and grabbed a couple knives. Supposedly they have visual defects…but I can’t find any
