It's a Toyota rebate. $500 for military or for college grad (grad within last 2 years or upcoming 6 months).

    Wow! That's Awesome!
I'd love to see your actual bill of sale that show the OTD price and what came on your truck?

This was my post in the what are you paying for your 2020 thread.

    "
    1. 2020 trd off road cement 6spd manual short bed
    2. MSRP(before dealer add ons) $38,113 includes destination charge
    3. Tech package ($770) toyo guard ($699) interior led lighting ($189)
    4. Cost of dealer add ons- lifetime power train warranty (probably a gimmick as it was 3k but has a 3k discount so it washes out), window tint, all weather mats, pinstripe, door cup guard, door edge guard, clear bra on bumper, grill and mirrors. $0.00 ( cost for this was $1,495 and brought msrp up to $39,608 but I started negotiating from line item 2 as the price on the website started @ $38,113. Everything above was a bonus as I had no idea the truck had these items until I went in to test drive it prior to signing the paperwork. All negotiating was done via email as dealer was 2 hours from my house.)
    5. Price before Tax Title License (TTL) including incentive/rebate $34031.21
    6. Discount 1-(#5/#2)*100=% off MSRP) 10.71% (if you include the dealer adds that I did not originally know about then it was 14.08% discount)
    7. Incentive (rebate/customer cash) not sure as my invoice just says "discount" of $4081.79
    8. Price Out The Door (OTD) $37,750. (No money down at all so all TTT and dealer fees included in this number from discount price)
    9. Trade in vehicle(year, make, model, trim) none
    10. Kelley blue book trade-in value N/A
    11. Trade allowance(amount given for trade) none
    12. Date purchased 8/29/20
    13. State purchased florida.
I felt like I got a pretty good deal. Especially when I showed up and it had all the dealer add ons that were not discussed prior to me arriving to the dealership. I wanted to do the tint, clear bra and all weather mats so it instantly saved me atleat 1k! I was going to hold out for a 2021, but went ahead for the 2020. I keep my vehicles for a long time so resale value between the 20 and 21 was not super important since I was buying the 20 at the end of the year. I also opted for financing through navy federal so I managed 2.29% at 72 months which was better than the 2.9% that toyota was offering."

I bought my 2021 SR5 from Herb Chambers, Auburn, MA. in June. This is the 2nd vehicle I purchased there. My Dad purchased his last 3 trucks...2 Tacoma & the latest in 2007, 2007 Tundra. Great people during AND after the sale. I had a 2014 GMC Acadia that I planned on trading in for a Tacoma but @ a later date. Things started going south rapidly w/ the Acadia. Needed tires, pads and rotors in the front, when the heat came in & needed the air conditioner, the belt started to squeal. I do my own work but parts (tires) not cheep & its not as though I would get my money back @ trade in. I chose to move the date up. There was not much room for negotiation due to the circumstances...Shortage of vehicles due to lack of computer chips. There were 4 Tacomas on the lot, one in the showroom. The one on the showroom floor $Hair under $60,000.00. Absafrickenlutely beautiful truck. Worth $60,000??? I don't think so. While I was there 7+ hrs., "wheelin & Dealin" w/mine, not only did 2 of the other 3 on the lot sold that day but there was a gentleman waiting for MINE in the event I walked away. The last Tacoma that did not even get looked @ was a white access cab w/ a 4 cyl. no options. The sales guy(s) I had, Chris and Brad were cool. I knew there was not going to be much wiggle room but I did not want to put any more money in the Acadia. I'm happy so all good.

If that was the case then it would have been the deal of the year and I would have been asking for that dealers info!

Not that I don't believe you. But could we actually see the documentation?
Because as you know anyone can type out random numbers and claim they got a Pro for $35K.

It would be great to actually see your documentation of the sale.

    Thank you!

Any opinion on if dealerships may discount below sticker and closer to invoice on 2.7 4 cyl Access Cab with back seat utility delete option? I’m seeing them in stock vs. Access Cab with back seat and 4x4 or V6.

I didn't claim it was a pro. Just an off road with tech package, toyoguard and interior led lighting. Keep in mind there were other items not included in the msrp like clear bra, all weather mats, tint and pinstriping that were on the truck when I arrived. Started negotiating from window sticker and not dealer addon price. You could also look at the 2020 thread and you'll see quite a few people were getting 3-4k off their purchases.

Try and see. Maybe frame it as your budget constraint number though, not just looking for a discount because you see them on sitting on lots. I don’t expect you’ll have much luck though, someone will buy those near MSRP if you don’t.

I found that dealers were much more reasonable if my ask was reasonable. Good luck

Just for reference I paid 36175 fo my 2021 sport 4x4 double cab msrp was 39092..this was 5 months ago in Wilsonville Oregon.
I'm curious if the truck you're looking at has any tech or LED headlights because that price is high IMHO

It's really hard to say during these "different times". Just a couple of months ago (late Feb) I paid 36.5k for my AG OR 4x4 (MSRP 41k) plus taxes and fees which brought the OTD price up to about 42k. This same truck would in no way sell for under MSRP in these days which would bring the OTD price of the truck to well over 45-46k.

With regards to the quote that you got, I would say that it's a decent price for what the Taco's are selling these days. Let's assume your are paying the MSRP for the truck (let's say 37k) plus sales taxes (again lets assume 7-9% depending on your state). That alone would bring the OTD to 40k. This isn't even accounting for any dealer doc fees (here in AZ every dealer charges $499) plus registration/plates (another $650, again this amount would change by state).

The MSRP is $36,600 their offering $500 off so tax, tag, title, dealer fees brings it to $40,000 OTD. I'm not sure how things are in other areas but in this part of Florida dealerships literally have no popular vehicles. Their being bought sight unseen in transit off the truck. Even this particular Taco is estimated 27 days out.
