Helping my 16 year old dress up his 2006 Tacoma 4.0 PreRunner Double Cab 2WD.

It appears to be lifted without blocks or spacers just leveled out with adjustable shocks/struts.

The wheels are currently 16.5 on 245-75-R16.

He was able to acquire a set of Black Rhino 17 x 9.5 and -18 offset, backspacing 4.540

Just trying to determine a reasonable sized M/T tire to mount which won't rub.......

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

265/70R17 would be the best bet.

If anything, maybe on the plastic at full lock given the width of said wheels. You can easily trim the plastics. Do you have pics of the truck and suspension?

Don't mean to rain on your parade here, but that truck is not leveled out and instead bro leaning. I'd drop the front down a notch or two, unless there are future plans to raise the rear accordingly.

Good call......I appreciate the input. Maybe after we get the mystery wheels on and they clear, then I can fiddle with the adjustments on the Bilsteins which will be my next thread question. LOL

Thank you both for your help...!~

Pull the shock, compress the spring and move the clip.

    Personally I wouldn’t mount a 265 on a 9.5 wheel. If I remember correctly it’s rated for a 7-8.5” wheel.

Yep. The backspacing of 4.5" is fine for even tires up to 285s but the main issue is the 9.5" width of the wheel. For majority of most common large tire sizes for a tacoma, 8" wide wheel is plenty. Like stated by gotoman1969, I would not run a 265 /70 tire which is roughly a 10.5" wide tire on a 9.5" wide rim due to lack of bead and sidewall protection. I would look into an aggressive looking A/T tire versus running a M/T tire due to ride and noise quality.
As for the rear sag, never do blocks. Either lower the front or raise the rear with a 3 leaf progressive aal. Get a tape measure out since the pic angle makes the rear seems much lower than the front.
