Just got my 21 SR5 into the dealership to have the TRD Lift kit installed. I mentioned wanting to keep the fog lights in and the rep I was working with told me they aren't allowed to leave them in, but I can reinstall them myself when I get home. I was about to roll over on him and then a diff rep chimed in and said "let him keep them. Just write on the paperwork that we took them out. That way we aren't liable for anything". The first rep was visibly annoyed by his response but he went ahead and did it for me.

Hope everything goes well with install, sounds like this isn't the first one they have done which makes me feel better about them not installing anything backwards like I've seen in previous posts lol

It immediately looked and drove better

Tell me about it. My dealership won't put 265/75/16 ko2s on it, tried selling me 235/85/16s instead. Told him no illl go somewhere else

I’ve got 265/75/16 ko2s. And trd lift. I have to warn you, every time I look at them now, I’m like damn my tires look small.

What else would you do? Diff brand? Diff type of tire?

There's no way a 285/70/16 fits without rub right?

285/75/16 is the size you want and it will fit with your setup now if you get the trd pro wheels. On your wheels, it will not work.

Yeah apparently that requires the CMC. You can look around and find out the exact diameters of the different AT tires. I think what I have is 31.7”. You can get a 17” rim. Sacrifice a little off-road ride quality. But ultimately the diameters allowed are the same anyways. I’m gonna slap some spidertrax spacers on it and be done (mostly).

Ya I've heard that. I'd like to keep my wheels as is for now and just put more rubber under them.

I don't know what you guys are looking at. I think the lift looks great with stock tires, or whatever you're running.
If I can find a decent deal on the trd lift I'm going to keep my tires but get aftermarket rims(eventually.)

I agree it doesn’t look bad on stock wheels/tires. I’m still running my stock OR wheel/tire setup now and will be until I can buy the 2022 bronze trail edition wheels. I’ll be running those with 285s. Happy with the setup now until those come out though.

Guess what we (me) are doing out in the 90+ degree heat today? DIY Toyota TRD OEM lift kit (Just the shocks, am going to use top groove for front shocks).

The mid afternoon is when the shade moves in over my back yard driveway. A little respite from that sun. Hopefully will be half done before the blustery thunderstorms and rain hits later this evening.

I'm getting too old for this shit, but if you want a job well done and save some coin, you must do it yourself. I'm not doing those rear 1" blocks that the kit comes with though, I'm sticking in 2" AAL's from Torch.

Hvae a Old Man EMU carrier bearing drop kit ready if needed. I really don't want to shim my diff, it already has a factory shim in it and I do worry about pinion gear lubrication.
