Damn that sucks OP do the right thing and don't screw someone else over. This pic was taken a while ago and I refused to drive through this in my subie even after my friend drove through it in his 4runner.

. Do the insurance company executives go to jail ever? No. That said I don’t endorse insurance fraud.

Just figured I'd give one final update.

Finally got my truck back from the stealership today. They had it 2 months. Still a bit of a smell after it sits for a while despite the padding under the carpet being replaced, but definitely not as bad as it was. :( But I've got an Ozium Single Shot from when this first happened that I'll probably go ahead and use now. And maybe stock up on some febreeze spray and/or those air fresheners that clip on the a/c vent. If anyone has some other ideas though, I'm love to know.

Other than that, everything seems fine - took a pretty good drive around this evening..

Mentioned it before, but insurance did cover the repair (minus my comprehensive deductible). And I didn't lie to them about what happened. Rates didn't go up so I assume my accident forgiveness applied.

Used car dealers do it everyday..... "As Is" and it's perfectly legal....ethical? not so much, but not fraud.

Lying by deception or omission in order to sell something, in my book, is fraud. In Oxford’s book too...

    fraud
    /frôd/

    noun
    1. wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.
      "he was convicted of fraud"

Glad to hear it’s working out and thanks for the update. I just ran across this post and no, I havent read all 11 pages. I stopped reading after all the jackasses started criticizing instead of helping because I have to say I would have thought you would have made it no problem. Another member shared his pics too and I’m really just shocked at how crap these things are in water. I’m gutted because part of my reason for buying my own ‘20 OR was to consolidate my garage and get rid of my 24 year old stock Jeep Grand Cherokee but it’s just SO much better off road than my TRD off-road tacoma…
Thanks again for posting because I would have gone right ahead into that crossing too. I guess I’ll just stop looking at better off road tires for the taco and keep the Jeep.
