Let me know if this works. Trying to chase down a rattle that’s annoying the crap out of me. Told the dealer and got the typical “that’s a problem with the Tacoma” response. Seems like that’s the answer for everything they don’t want to deal with.

 

What brand tailgate letters?

Yes, I am over-researching tailgate letters, haha!

 

a lot (most/all?) people go with the raised letters. i went with flat vinyl stickers

Yeah, I was leaning towards the flat vinyl. The OEM are an option for those unless you have a suggestion?

I bought mine from the Toyota dealer by my house.

 

Pretty simple to install?

 

AC water leak inside...They can't fix it... under warranty

So Toyota Corporate told my Dealership to give the vehicle back to the customer, unrepaired. They say since I drive with a window cracked the moisture from the outside air is condensing on the bottom of the AC unit case and that is where the drip is coming from. I told him so I drive my 2020 model the same way I did my 2008 model and it never happened in the 2008 one. His answer to that was the case or unit may have been changed or different as the years have progressed.

So now it is up to me to try to remedy the issue. I am thinking a strategically mounted small 12-volt fan blowing on that bottom case may take care of the issue. So does anyone have any pictures of the outside dash removed so I can see where I might mount a small fan to blow on the bottom of that case? Wish me luck guys, not crazy about water dripping inside my truck from the AC unit no matter what the cause.

So driving with AC on and windows down is what Toyota claims is the cause? Interesting.

 

Anything to get out of what may be a design flaw.
Is this an issue with newer years? I have a 2017 and have not had this issue.

 

I did the Chalk bag install today, plus Yeti water bottle matches the Cement color as weak

 

Yep! Wipe down the recesses in the tailgate and stick. Pretty easy.
