Not that far off though. Just giving you a little cushion, fudge factor if you will. I know I've been on travels before all the Google maps, GPS gadgetry and such like :goingcrazy:oh my! There's got got to be a filling station soon!

    A thing or two...
Good to hear everything went well.

The miles to empty is calculated off an average fuel consumption number, so if you're doing a lot of city driving it will be a lower number. Jump on the highway where MPG is higher, and it will go down slower. When I was living in VA a few years ago and had to fill up every 3 days, my car would hit 0 miles to empty every time on the way home, and I'd drive another 15+ miles to get to the station closest to my house.

For anyone interested, here's the note from the shop on what was wrong with the Pilot:

Rocker arm support bolt backed out and allowed rocker arm to move off of valve

That was kind of my thought, too. Could have gotten ugly very quickly, I'm sure.

Well, that would certainly cause a misfire. Hope they didn't soak you on the repair.

Years ago (decades actually) I had a intake rocker arm break on an old V8 Wagoneer, ran like crap and used a full quart of oil on the slow 20 mile trip home.
Replaced it with a used one and back on the road with no problems.

I know you grow stuff @six5crèéd but I'll ask anyone else as well; Can anyone weigh in on a good way to deal with ants on plants? I've got some new potted peppers and herbs and I've started seeing little nests of these red ants I have out back on the plants. I've been knocking them off where I see them but I need a better solution to deal with them. I bought some food grade diatomaceous earth and I'm planning on applying that stuff to the plants because It's safe so if you guys have any tips for using that or anything else I'd love to hear it.

Hopefully this doesn't come back to bite me but based on the warning signs leading up to it, I figured I'd risk it and only had them tighten the front 3 cylinders, not the back 3 as there was hardly any cost savings in doing it now.

    $518 all in.

It would have been an additional $320 if I'd had them do the back at the same time.

Trying to cut a 1/4” wide piece of trim from a small scrap piece, got lucky. I only found splinters in the driveway from where the blade caught it and sent it! When cutting it, I heard a loud pop and the piece I was cutting disappeared.
