I know! I did not see that in the owners manual stating to NOT use the AC if any window was cracked.

I researched the issue on here very well. Found that from 2016 to the present there were about 3-4 folks here having the same issue. 2- 3 out of 4 were clogged drain lines. My drain is clear and has been blown out. So it appears to happen with the 3rd Gen Tacoma's as my 2nd Gen never had issues like that. As the service guy says they may have changed the units since the 2008 model I used to have. In the meantime, a well-placed rag catches the drip but I need to find out where to place a fan to blow on that case bottom to prevent condensation from even forming to start with. Maybe the older models had some sort of airflow to them that the newer ones do not have.

I drive with the AC on and the sunroof open and don't any problems (knock on wood!). Something sounds fishy here.

I've noticed two rattles in my truck usually while listening to music. Maybe this will help some of you rattle chasers:

    1. The map light/sunglasses enclosure assembly rattles a lot, stops when just touching a finger to it. I originally thought it was the cover for the sunglass compartment rattling but it's the entire assembly rattling against possibly the headliner.
    2. A black trim piece across the top of the door frame inside the window. Driving with windows down this rattles a ton, it's very loose fitting. I plan to line the piece of metal it straddles with a layer or two of electrical tape to snug it up and damper any lingering rattles.
Can provide pics of the areas if anyone is interested.

Nice! I traded my 18 Sport 4x4 late May with only 4,200 miles. Got 40k for the trade and paid 40k for my new 21 OR 4x4. These babies really keep their value!

It does seem that perhaps I have a "lemon" because I am sure others drive with their sunroofs or windows cracked or open and do not experience this issue. I May have to look into the lemon law thing, I did not want to have to pull that one but they are giving me no choice. It has been in the shop 3 times technically for the same issue.

Thank you, I can't take the credit for this mod. I saw here awhile back, finally did it. Very simple mod, no tools needed.

While I agree that Toyota is letting you down and you shouldn’t have to find a fix for the issue I wonder if there is a way to insulate the area similarly to the way an AC duct is insulated to prevent condensation.
Just a thought I sure hope I don’t start seeing an issue.

I cant take full credit for it, did get the idea off of TW. I mainly wanted to do it so I can hook up multiple flash drives without having a usb splitter hanging off the center dash.

I just removed mine, after 3 years, and you can definitely see where the label was. I used Goof Off followed by rubbing alcohol. Looks better than the label, but you can still see where it waa
