Did you cut the steps off the Predators and essentially turn them into a form of slider?

That is exactly what I did. Just took an angle grinder with a cutting wheel and then sprayed them flat black

My AT3 experience has been great with the 265/75/16. Keep in mind that I’m 98% on road. Good at 85mph, good in the rain, and pretty darn quiet for the tread pattern.

I have the K02’s on my truck. Recently put them on from the OEM tires and the ride quality on the roads is none, on the highways you maybe get a little rougher and louder but it is very minimal. I was looking for the same things as you in my new tires and am very happy with my purchase.

Do you feel all the extra weight from the Ko2s ? I think they are 54 pounds per tire compared to the factory which I believe are 37-38 pounds. I like the side wall looks better on the K02s but I've read they aren't great in the rain and they bog down the truck and make it feel sluggish.

If there is a difference I have not noticed it, so I would say it is very minimal. I would not say any more sluggish than the truck already was. Personally I have not experienced the tires in the rain yet, doesn't rain much here in San Diego. They are very good looking tires, I very much enjoy the look of them!

I've got the 285s which are about 60lbs each. I don't feel it on the acceleration but for sure braking is more difficult and makes me more cautious

Just ran across this post tonight (had this exact idea about removing the steps off of the Predators and searched on it).

A couple of questions if you don’t mind…

    - Do you use the remaining step surface as a step? In other words, is there enough surface there to step on to aid in getting into the truck? I’ve been looking at steps and running boards but want to find something that is tighter to the truck and doesn’t protrude out much. Everything I’ve seen sticks out further than what I think I want.

BTW, I think they look good like that.

    Thanks in advance.

Looks great I'm wanting to step up from 285/75/16 to 295/75/16 . I've witnessed for my self how long ko2's last and how good they do in the snow and I don't go mudding very often or at all . I'm pushing 2 1/2 years on my km3's as of now

The predator steps are garbage if you plan on actually using them as sliders. Caliraised sliders are a million times better and worth every penny.

As far as tires, the k02's ride is stiffer than the toyo's, even if you opt in for the e rated toyo's, but as far as traction the k02's are better. I kept the OC3's on my baja bug cuz it softened the ride when I jump the piss out of it, but my taco will only ever have k02's, which are finally getting on the truck on Monday, it's a new truck..

I swear that the k02's out preformed every other tire that I have tried, pro comp's, grabbers, falken's, toyo's, nitto's, and super swampers. The only other tire that I'd ever consider are the Mikey Thompson's. But for the price and warranty, I'd still go with the k02's or the km3's, but they don't have a mile warranty.

Nah there's not a lot left to step on once the actual steps get cut off. Hasn't bothered me much but my grandma has a tough time so I bring a step stool with me when I pick her up for dinner

    A bunch..and no build thread!
I'm running KO2's on stock 16's, but I got them for free so I didn't really shop them. Good riding tire, for sure!

Your mileage and opinion may vary but I’ve had toyo at3 tires for almost over a year now and I have no complaints. Rotated every 5k miles and no abnormal wear. There’s a bit of noise from the tires but my truck makes more noise because of all the mods I’ve done.

I just had a set of the toyo open country at3s installed. I notice between 60 and 65 I get a rumble type noise with a slight vibration. It goes away if im going down hill or let off the gas. I didn't have it before having the tires installed. It doesn't change when I turn or anything. It's stays the same and only between 60 and 65. The tire store did have issues balancing the tires. Anyone else experienced this with these tires?
