New member here. Looking at Tacoma access cab. Not going off road, most driving in city and short highway trips in South NJ. Using back seat area for groceries etc, not people. Wondering if I should save $1700 with back seat delete and go with 2.7 4 cylinder or wait and look for one with back seat package and other options and then compare 4 with 6 cylinder. Most 6 cyl in my area are 4x4, which really increases the price. Will I miss the back seat speakers, and intermittent wipers? Are the black bumpers that come with this Tacoma BZ option the same SR model bumper, but just not painted? Or are they cheaper plastic? Any opinions would be appreciated, especially if you own one. Not finding a lot of new inventory on the lots right now.

    I’d miss the intermittent wipers.
If you know you will never need the rear seats AND you plan to keep the truck “forever”.
Save the money and don’t get them.

If however, you plan to sell it later. The backseat will help the resale value.

Intermittent wipers should be an easy fix. I had a base Tundra and all I needed to do was replace the wiper stock. I would assume it’s the same on the Tacoma.

I would like to use the $1700 saved to upgrade to black wheels, and possibly put back in the rear speakers. I read about the wiper replacement, wonder if dealership would do that switch for me. I would rather have nice set of wheels, than back seat and sliding back window. I like the look of black bumpers on silver Tacoma. Wondering if they fade without

Love my SR Utility package. Lots of storage from floor to window in the rear. Black bumpers and door handles are strong enough, folks here are blacking out their bumpers and door handles for that SR look lol. Installing the Intermittent wipers was easy but you can ask the dealer and see. Installing keyless entry was more work but worth it. Basically …

The wiper mod is only a Phillips screwdriver and 1 beer while you do it. Not many things in life this cheap/easy and I’m no mechanic. You’ll spend more time watching the yt video than actually doing the swap. I love my 4-banger 5-M but it’s not a rocket. My bumpers haven’t faded in 7 years.

I got the utility package on mine but I still have intermittent wipers. I guess it was a mistake but I like it.

Ive read in the threads that the 2021 and maybe even the 2020 Tacoma SR Utility packages have been coming with intermittent wipers. 2016-2019 Utility did not.

I can’t believe they are forcing automatic transmissions down our throats but intermittent wipers are still an option. Stupid as shit IMO.

Have a 2021 utility. Wish I had rear seats since I have more than 1 passenger often, but overall I love the truck. My utility package came with intermittent wipers and the full safety suite. Sound quality/loudness is fine even without rear speakers.

I've got the 2019 with utility package. I don't miss the backseats at all. Access cabs with backseats are pretty much for kids or very small adults anyway. I do miss intermittent wipers, but based on others post I may be able to fix that. Keyless entry would be nice too, I'll probably add that at some point. It's a great option that saves some money for sure. It's only been two years, but nothing has faded on the exterior of mine yet.
