New Backwoods Hi-Lite Overland Bumper — IN STOCK AND READY TO SHIP

I like the regular rear bumper, but they lost me when they keep the factory hitch. Doesn’t make much sense to buy a $1200 bumper and not improve the approach angle...

 

The price point is pretty reasonable considering its aluminum but I'm curious what steps are taken to combat galvanic corrosion due to dissimilar metals?

 

We are welding up our final prototype hopefully this week or next! We have to fully test it to make sure it’s completely ready for release so we are shooting for around August!

 

We actually used to include stainless spacers on our Sprinter bumpers but learned they weren’t really necessary because both metals are powder coated

 

Because the bumper just replaces the stock one, we wanted to retain all factory towing capabilities!

 

Looks awesome! Am shopping around right now. Saw the CBI full hoop but after reading the horror stories on here and tacoma3g I'm staying away.
Whats the full weight with hoops?

Ahhh yea its not quite up yet. We have been backed up with other projects and renovating our current space to handle more orders. It was supposed to get cut and welded this week so hopefully thats still on track. Once we are happy with how it is now we can begin production

 

I assume the front is compatible with the TRD skid plate? I didn't see that mentioned anywhere.

 

We have not tested it with the TRD skid. Is there anything different about that skid plate vs others on the market?

 

Apparently. I just know some other manufacturers have stated theirs are not compatible.

Whats up folks! Just thought I would pop back in and give some production updates! The final rendition of the HC swingout and non-swingout will be going on the 2 trucks this Friday in preparation for Overland Expo Mountain West. We will have a booth there so feel free to come by and hang out! As for full guard bumpers, we opted to have the tubing pre-coped so that process is taking a lot longer than usual for the manufacturer to deliver the tubing, but thats expected so no surprises there.
