    Don’t understand your question. Do you want to engine swap your truck for a Hilux engine? The 1KZ-TE Turbodiesel should bolt onto the A340F or A340E bellhousings if automatic. Not sure about the R150’s. You might need to move engine mounts and of course swap and or splice the harness and ECU.

    Of course you people would need a day to designate when it's ok to ask 'such questions'

    Don't fight me though, we have a common enemy; the 3rd genners :burp:

    I don't mean to be a dick when I say this but let's face facts -

    Engine swaps are not for the faint of heart and those intending to do so fall into 1 of these categories;

    1. The fabricator/mechanical-savvy type, this person will already know going into the swap the majority of what he/she needs to know. They will chime in with either a thread and pictures, and/or ask very specific questions that others may know the answer to.

    2. The 'money is no object' kind of person, that doesn't possess the skill or know-how, but is simply on the hunt as to what they should buy because they'll just pay all the money to get the work done.

    3. The person that comes in here with the fresh idea to perform said swap, asking the most basic of questions. This person hasn't considered all that could go into such a swap, much less the cost, because if they did, they wouldn't come in asking such a vague and generic question. Some prior knowledge is pretty much required if you are seriously considering such a job, unless you've just got a lot of money to burn.

    If you were doing a direct engine replacement, then sure, it's just turning wrenches and pulling shit out.

    But in this case, we're switching to a completely different engine.

    I know they aren't, I've done it before... I put a Cummins 4BT in my 95 Bronco. But those engines are easier to find, especially since they're legal in the U.S. I just have no idea where to find the Hilux engine (1KZ-TE)

    You can get the from importers. Lots of them on the coasts. California, Florida, etc. 1KZ is dirt common outside of the US.

    check their local Craigslist’s.
