Now I just need free ski lessons. The only time I went skiing was many years ago, the small slope was closed and they weren't doing lessons at the time.
I fell so many times that by the time I reached the bottom of the slope, I took off my skis and spent the rest of the day in the bar.

Got the last of it in just before midnight last night, I just woke up hahaha. Very happy to be done with the hardest part, I do wish the weather was this instead of the humidity fest it was...

Hello CT folks, just drove here from Michigan and getting my girlfriend settled in for starting school, heading back to California in mid-September. One of my CV boots is slightly torn and I also have a wobble that might be solved with an alignment. Could you kind folks please recommend (i) a good alignment shop and/or (ii) a good Toyota or Japanese auto repair shop, ideally in the New Haven area (willing to drive though, given that it's a small state)? I have regular places I go to back home but having trouble sorting amidst the Yelp reviews and yellow pages--could use a quality referral if anyone can recommend a shop.

Put used shell on and it made the trip alright. Getting used to the New England parallel parking situations, but managing alright. Pics below.

Also, out of curiosity, I struggled to find the alcohol section in Whole Foods and it only has beer. The Costco in Milford has alcohol but it's in a separate (attached) building. I've seen liquor-less grocery stores in places like Colorado before, but the "only beer in grocery store" approach is new to me—is there a rationale behind the policy?

Would they be able to help @scofflaw with his woes or are they strictly exhaust?

Fun oil change today, this time on the wifes subaru.

Had it changed at the dealership for free last time, because it was in for another oil consumption test. Still doesn’t fail by their standards but needs a quart and a half added at 3k.. each change. Religiously.

Had to use a breaker bar to get the drain plug off. Never something I need to do when I change my own oil. They also had the filter on so tight, my filter wrench rounded out the damn filter when trying to get it off. Defeated, I put the plug back in with a fresh washer, topped it off with fresh oil.

At the last minute, determined not to be bested, I tried putting one of those rubber things you use to open stubborn jars between the filter and filter wrench, and tapped the wrench on as much as I could. Anddd it kept slipping. Shredded the rubber thing beyond further use.

Beyond defeated at this point. Ready to throw in the towel. One last idea, using electrical tape to fill the rounded void between the filter and filter wrench. Was expecting this to also fail. Put some torque on, more than I was comfortable with on a filter, and a tiny budge. A bit of slight relief, and gave it another go. And shazam, off it came.

Im not the best mechanic myself; certainly dont know it all myself. But wtf dealers. Now to get this filter wrench off, but in the grand scheme, thats such a small issue. Just happy I got that all set.

I know a place in Manchester CT you can use, they do a good job.
But it's aways from New Haven.
Torn CV boot = replace CV boot...
I have a couple on hand but I'm leaving tomorrow, not sure how long your around.
    I'll be back next weekend.
As far as alcohol goes, don't go to the grocery store.
You go to a package store where you can normally find everything and anything you desire.
