In the market for seat covers for hot humid weather. Something that is waterproof or water resistant from back sweat and rain.

I don’t know too much about the seat cover market, however I have heard good things about Carhartt seat covers. Very durable and fit securely to the Tacoma’s seats.

I bought a set of Clazzios a few months back. They seem to be somewhat cool in the sun/heat. I also have tinted windows though. There is a page on here dedicated to them.

When you have a nice vehicle with cooled and heated leather seats they are awesome. Especially when they automatically switch to cooling or heating based on temperature when you autostart the vehicle. Tacomas will get that upgrade around 2030 probably.

I've had leather seats for 30 years. Never a problem with heat/cold. Remote starts are great too.

Here's my install thread. I've loved them. I think they would do well in hot and humid weather. I have done hot (105F) in them but not the humidity but they are water resistant.

I recently installed Wet Okele Seat covers in my truck. I'm it CT which has been hot and humid this summer. They are neoprene seat covers so it takes a little bit for the smell to settle (about 6 weeks for me). I always use a windshield sun cover to keep the heat and neoprene smell inside at bay. But I love them. I went camping for 4 days with terrible weather and wasn't concerned about them at all. It took me about 90 min to clean/treat the seat covers after the camping trip. (It was so my first time cleaning them, so I will be able to get the time down). I have front buckets/ rear 60/40 bench.

Having the neoprene is great though. Just yesterday I had the lid on my yeti cup come loose while putting my backpack in the truck. Water all over the seat... Oh well, just let the truck get warm in the sun and it evaporated real quick lol. I got them with lumbar and heaters in both seats.

They have held up really well. I definitely use my truck and the interior takes a beating.

They don't really shift much at all as there's not enough excess material to be able to bunch. They are a very tight fit and the duck weave fabric holds its dimensions really well.

I had Clazzios on my 2nd gen (selling them currently). Im in SOCAL and a couple of summer days are 120+. I noticed the seat covers made my back sweaty. Im not a heavy set person (160 lbs). So the deal on the Clazzios is that the outer (sides) seat cover portion is pvc. The only thing that changes when getting the full leather is the middle sections. I got the full pvc and didn't regret it. Great covers but I think I will go with WetOkole for my next set. My only concern is that they won't be as easy to clean. with the Clazzio you just wipe it down like leather.

I'm not sure I currently have the neoprene on my truck I like them, but it def makes the ass sweat. The leather will either be hot as hell in the summer when you get in or cold in the winter(unless you have heated seats). But I do like how the neoprene is water proof. So I just throw a towel in the truck when I take my dog anywhere. Bc her nails will tear through it but with a towel on the seat it helps.

I have had mine Installed since May and dealt with this whole summer without getting terrible swamp ass. I camped at a racing event for 4 nights while it was 100f during the day and enjoyed getting into the truck and run the AC for a while. Didn't care about the sweat since they are water proof
The only time that my seat covers have gotten extremely hot are the few times that I forgot to put up my windshield cover. That plus the tinted windows helps to make a big difference in keeping the neoprene cool when parked. Don't get me wrong, the inside of the truck gets warm like anyone else's while it sits there in a parking lot.

It took about 1hr to clean and protect the neoprene seat covers with their natural cleaners that they sell.
