Options for new Air Box

Can’t seem to find an aftermarket stock style Air Box for my 96 Tacoma 3.4. Only things I can find is brand new from Toyota for $500 which is not happening. Or aftermarket boxes but they are for 99-04 and look nothing like mine. Anybody know where to get one for a 96 or mine snapping a picture of what the one in there truck looks like to make sure mine is right? Posted a pic of mine

Have you checked with some salvage yards? If you do, don’t forget to check out the 4Runners. They are more common in a salvage yard than a Tacoma, and they might be the same. Idk

 

Replace it with a sock type filter by Unifilter or K&N.

 

Which style MAF sensor do you have? I think that's the only difference between the early 95-00 and 01-04 air boxes.

 

I have the older MAF and it’s port is permanent unlike the newer ones that can be unbolted and moved to a different box

I've been eyeballing this one for a while. For $77 shipped and shipping from California (not overseas), I'm willing to roll the dice on it since at the end of the day it's a plastic box. As long as my MAF bolts in correctly it'll be better than my current cracked one that's held in by 1 screw.

I've got the same broken arms. Thinking about some fiberglass or metal reinforcements when I get down my list enough to buy a new one.

 

I actually found one on eBay this weekend for $120 but it also included the MAF so I snagged it and am gonna through the MAF on the shelf

 

Yeah I’ve seen those for sale all over but that won’t work on the 95-98 models cause our MAFs are different

 

mine is broken on the box too but after the filter so I’ve been getting dirty air
