3rd Gen or 4x4 Conversion?

O rings are garbage, toss them.

I would suggest getting them blasted so they're completely free of any grease, paint, grime, etc.

Found a shop to do it free on 3 different occasions; I ended up surprising them with food just to say thanks.

So what I'm saying is, the cost will be next to nothing and it'll get them clean better than you could do yourself.

Careful with your ball and detent spring, though if it was bent, or lost, you can order more from that same post.

Case you missed it, Redline grease has proven itself well as a quality grease.

 

Called some sand blasting places today. One that is locally known and acclaimed is $140/hr. I know that is a lot, but I am expecting quality results. Additionally, the hub pieces are not going to take more than 10 min, but the store is a decent trip for me. So, I am thinking this, should I bring more parts to get sand blasted like the drive shafts in particular?

 

I know a lot of you will be disappointed, but Cherry Bomb was giving out and I don’t have the facilities to do the kind of work on the conversion. So I did go the other route… At the time, this is the best option for me!

I will keep this page up as it has a lot of information for those who still wish to do a conversion and stay tuned for my parts for sale!

 

Was hoping to see this one finished as it was giving me hope to one day make the conversion on my prerunner. I get it though, my first Gen has been bleeding me dry in the $ department as of late.

 

Good thing is, this thread by itself has the answer to any and all parts needed for a manual hub swap, and more.

 

Now all I need is a place to do it and the mechanical skills to do it of which I have none.

 

It's sad to see CherryBomb 1.0 go but, I also can't wait to see what 2.0 will bring to the table.

Cause they do sell 2wd TRD Offroads, how much would that suck if someone bought a 2wd TRD OR thinking it was 4wd haha

 

I would be pissed if my truck said 4x4 Offroad and it's 2wd. That's just false advertising.
