Need help figuring out where to wire interior led lights.

Hey guys I’ve searched but couldn’t find anything. I’m trying to install and led strip so it’ll come on when the interior dash lights come on after I turn on the headlights. Anyone know a good safe fuse to tap into for this?

 

I am interested if this as well.
Any updates?
My son wants to add a LED strip of lights in the interior.
Any thoughts?

For what the original poster is wanting to do, it would be a add-a-fuse to the 5 amp Panel fuse or the 7.5 amp Tail fuse. Added L.E.D.'s would be ON when Tail/Parking lights are selected.

 

This is totally from someone uneducated in auto electronics but wouldn't those fuses be "hot" any time the ignition was on? Just asking for my curiosity.

 

That would be incorrect. Those fuses are after an integrated relay that gets ground (activated) through the light switch when parking/tail lights is selected.

If you need the added LED's to behave like the cab lamp, that would require a tap to the cargo lamp switch circuit connector pin 9 (Violet wire) and the fuse needs to be attached to an always ON source, same as the cab illumination.

 

Like so:

Added LED's are ON at Unlock/Lock (same as cab illumination) and at door opened.
Off with door closed.
When Parking/Tail is selected they would stay ON.
