    @Harry P. Ness

Albuquerque, NM - you ride up through Placitas, NM on HWY 165 and that turns into an unmaintained dirt road for about 8-9 miles and comes out on HWY 536, which is the road to Sandia Crest (which is what you see in the last photo). That road takes you down into Cedar Crest to HWY 14 and then west on Route 66 back into Albuquerque. Then it’s a few roads on the foothills and northern edge of town.

It was pretty cool with the misty clouds hanging down on the mountain. Would’ve been great if it was clear skies as well, but those are most days so I’ll take the cool weather climbing up that mountain!

Well technically it doesn't say if he was or was not vaccinated. And even if you are vaccinated, you can still test positive. Our office had 5-6 positive tests last week and several of them were vaccinated but had little to no symptoms.

^^ This. My wife works in a hospital and several staff, who have all been vaccinated for 6+ months, have tested positive. However, they have had no or at worst minor, symptoms. I would not assume that Norton was unvaxxed. OTOH, if he wasn’t, and infected others, it is everyone’s business.

    Yes back to bikes.

I put skateyboard tape in two non-colors (black!) on my shifty levers. THAT is actually a damned cool mod for like nothing. Gonna see if I can find neato colors that contrast.

Anyone run those fooker or rockbros pedals?

I want to go chester or one up component and these seem to be clones of them for about 1/2 the cost.

Parley's fire isn't too bad. all that smoke is headed south/eastward. Today's air quality on the other hand....all from the california/oregon fires. all swirling down on us. :( no riding today for me I'm afraid.

spacer not needed. can confirm because i had the exact same thought process. I don't run it at all. :)

Side note. On a local mini enduro race series, I got 5th out of 32 in my category. And that's having missed a race. Not bad. Had I raced that one race I could've taken podium. I'll take it!

Their the exact same thing, maybe cheaper bearings etc. however they're disposable at that price.
Clearly they're a rip off of raceface and cheating them out of any R&D that may have went into them, and limits raceface on the amount of support they can give the sport.
China doesn't have the same patent laws we do I'm guessing.

    Great Job.
I do want to get in shape to do a race series. Go Nuts Racing is growing and travel is expanding. Most races are on sunday's which works great since that's usually the only day I can guarantee I'm not working.

hah! thanks guys! Some of the tracks were really boring but there were also really fun ones that I really enjoyed. Felt like an actual enduro stage. :D

You’re right. Bikes are fun, truth speak can turn people into something not fun.

Crazy thought of the day: I've never been 100% content with the Medium sizing on my Transition Spur. At just a hair under 5'10", I'm directly in the middle of their Large and Medium sizing charts, but their engineers told me last year before I bought the bike that the medium would work fine for me if I like to whip it around everywhere. The problem is, I think they might have been wrong. I've slammed my seat as far back as it will go and even swapped a 60mm stem in place of the stock 50mm stem. It still feels cramped sometimes and I REALLY hate having such a long stem -- feels a bit awkward to do wheelies and handle some tech stuff with the bars so far out in front of the fork. I definitely feel very much on the bike, rather than in the bike.

I'm thinking about selling it and buying an Ibis Ripley AF + a carbon wheelset instead. Who wants to talk me out of it? Any other ideas?

Tolerances are reportedly not as tight. Don't be a cheap ass, buy the real thing and support real jobs

My experience is with older Ripley geo, but may still be relevant for Ibis sizing. I’m a hair over 5’10” and I demo’ed a large Ripley and it felt just right. I ended up getting a large SC Tallboy but my wife has a medium Ripley and it’s definitely too small for me; she’s about 5’5” with long legs and with a shorter than OEM stem it’s just right for her.
