I in fact purchased a fluid extraction device. Yes, I've worn lots of transmission fluid. And made heck of a mess on driveway. Even with the jumbo cookie pan, managed to make a mess!

 

Wish I could find a couple of oompa-loompas...of course I'd pay them well.

 

I have had mine over 20 years, one of the tools you can't live without after you have it. Works great on mowers and the like too!

The drain pan and I have an adversarial relationship on the best days, seems even if I manage to get everything in it I can still find a way to kick, step in it or just dump it on the way to the used oil drum.

Pro tip: Don't drop a Torqueflight valve body on your forehead -- it will bounce -- directly into the drain pan...

Oompaloompa #1, grab die grinder #2 start unraveling the air hose! Um yeah, socket not going on this one.

 

Hammer it on

 

Next size socket down and a BFH. It'll come off better than with a die grinder

 

Hmm, might be able to! Pretty rough though. I might try file first. Couple of them this bad.

 

I just going to dress the edges where they're drug across the rocks. Play, I pay

 

I've had very good luck on fasteners like those,

$34 Maximum Impact Bolt & Nut Remover Set 13 pieces

using a this type of extractor. (Not recommending this particular brand, just the style in general).

 

At least I've got my face shield this go round
I think be able to dress the edges and reuse these bolts.

Don't know, I was hoping he would just say he'd fix it. I wasn't expecting him to say I need to pay for a new rocker. I don't know what I'm going to do about it. Haven't responded to him yet.

I get it's not his fault the cheaply made part is rusting, I just thought it would take longer than 2 years.

 

I know...get done a lot faster but figured this would add to TW entertainment value for some.

 

Unless this is a truck that needs to look nice, I'd hit those spots with the die-grinder and a Scotch-Brite pad, and cover with rattle can white.
