Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
That's the usual route, and if all else fails, that's where I'll end up. We went deeper over the summer toward Knoll, but that was a longer trip. Christopher Creek is in my back pocket when I'm feeling lazy.

Will likely be doing Edge of the World when I decide to take a random Friday off.

I find it easier to go up through Pine and Strawberry to get to Knoll. Thats probably my favorite area if you can get a spot

Went to Vail to see family this weekend. Wifes van MPG makes me jelly. Older 2010 Odyssey with some oiled up cats; Thanks to VCM. (Now deleted). Trying to maintain 80mph, down, up, down all the way to Vail 23mpg. Not the greatest, but with 6ppl loaded and full of over packed bags. Cant complain.

BTW, the drivers on the 10 between Phx and Tuscon. FFS, the amount of left and middle lane campers. I left cruise set to 80 and stayed in right lane and pretty much passed everyone. Until ti goes back down to 2 lanes, then a wonderful wonderful big rig decided he wanted to elephant race everyone else via the left lane, keeping a nice locked up pack going about 55 for a while.

23mpg ain't too shabby. I'm hoping my girl gets the hybrid RAV4 once her lease is up.

Thank god most of that stretch is now 6 lanes. But I still hate that drive with a passion.

As someone who drives 4-5000 miles a month, mostly in AZ, I feel your pain. Saw this on insta the other day and laughed quite hard.

Yea the MPG ain’t bad. Especially considering even with a new van the MPGs would be the same.
Except Toyota is touting 35mpg with the new Sienna Hybrid. I can definitely do that. But then again having no car notes for our vehicles is nice. So until we come across a windfall of sorts. Just keeping up with maintenance on the ole Odyssey and it should last near forever.
Honestly I wasn’t a mini van guy. But after getting it. With kids. Hell even no kids. Hell of a daily. Rides smoooth. Literally more room than Tacoma for gear. Payload is probably higher too!! 1350# capacity.
Wife can get a new I’m keeping this one for my DD.

Minivans make far more sense than most CUV's/SUV's (cough Palisade/Telluride). But people will sacrifice practicality for vanity 99% of the time.

Here ya on that. We had a 4Runner with 3rd row for awhile. Sold that. Was looking at Sequoia and such. Then tried out a minivan. Wow. We were doing it so wrong.

Body on frame SUV's make sense for 4x4, towing etc. But just as pavement human haulers, the minivan is the master race.

My wife still loves her Honda Odyssey, and for the simplicity of hauling the kids around I pretty much drive it for everything as well, my truck averages 50 miles a week tops at this point.

I was camping at CC last weekend. It was upper 80s to low 90s. It leaves a little to be desired temperature wise right now..

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
This is about what I expected. I'd rather have the additional drive time anyway to get to the rim. Probably just going to go with a business as usual one nighter unless something can't miss gets suggested.

On the list! That'll get dedicated more than a one-night stay, at least until I get the RTT set up on the truck.
