Same here. Ran e rated for about a year and no issues, well except for being a bit stiff. My truck cornered amazing with the sport suspension though.

There are lots of aggressive looking AT tires that come in an SL. Falken Wildpeaks, General Grabber AT2s, Toyo Open Country's, Goodyear Ultra Terrains, Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus, Goodyear Duratrac, Nitto Terra Grappler AT, and my personal favorite the Maxxis RAZR AT.

I have e rated 285/70r17s and have had the light come on with decent acceleration and tight turns but never had issues.

I have ToyoAT3 in 265/75/16 E Rated. I have never had a problem and personally feel the truck drives better with them. Skip walmart go to Discount tire.

Not necessarily. E-load rated tires are only capable of carrying more weight because they can safely contain more air pressure. The air is the spring that carries the load. Many are heavier duty and offer more puncture resistance but i's not because they are e-rated, it's because they were engineered for off-road/puncture protection. There are loads of e-rated tires for heavy vehicles that offer no more protection than a SL tire and probably a bunch of SL/P rated tires that offer more protection than the typical H/T E-load rated tire.

I'll bet my lunch you don't have 10 ply tires.

This one's for the OP. Look at what you're gonna do figure out what you're gonna do and buy tires accordingly. Good luck

Maybe say "10-ply rated" and not "10-ply". Saying you have a 10-ply tire means that you have a 10-ply tire. 10-py and 10-ply rated are not the same thing. Use E-load rated if you want to convey that your tires can hold 80 PSI instead of 50 or 42 or whatever other load rating you want to trump. I know where the nomenclature and terms come from, that's why I am an asshole about calling people out on here because it's just non-stop bad info for anyone who reads it and doesn't know better. This whole forum is so full of bad/wrong/misinformation and it's regurgitated constantly.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Sorry to not use the terms in accordance with your exacting standards. From now on I will say 10-ply “rated”.

    Thank you so much!

I have 285/70/17 Yokohama geolander G015 10ply on mine with no issues other than this peticular tire is its NOISE at speed

The reason I choose a 10 ply is they don't seem to get punctures near as much as the 4 ply does PLUS when aired down to 8psi they stay on the rim

Ive sent an email out to have the official chart fixed. I also sent a note to Amnesty International and Mark Zuckerbeg to help get this travesty cleaned up.

Do you mean 10 ply “rated” or 10 ply? I’m so confused now.

Thanks. I'll sleep better tonight knowing that your ignorance caused you to be triggered enough to reply twice to the same post and an MS Paint edit to really show me who's boss. Tell Zuck I said, "Hi".

Edit: I should point out that your chart clearly states that it is the "Old ply rating system" it's referring to, when they actually did use that many plies in the tire. I know, reading is hard, but keep at it, you will get there!

I will. I just find you’re point both contradictory and hilarious, which brightened my day. It was worth doubling down on the fun.

Cant quote you on the 10ply, but the C Load 265/75/16 Duratracs are awesome. I believe they are 6 ply, as apposed to a 4ply SL tire.

P.S. If your Rocking the 4cyl 2.7, I'd be worried about the heavier 10ply tire, but that's just me.

    Good luck!

why not 24 ply, N-rated tires? surely those are better, right? if it's good enough for a dump truck, it should be good enough for a taco
