Look by the CAT, it’s very prone to rust holes there. That’s where they found mine and it’s getting the frame replaced as we speak. Get underneath yourself and look all over for yourself. Don’t take their word for it. Once your 12yrs are up you’re on your own

How long is the process taking? I was told 3 to 4 months to get the frame once once Toyota approves it, but only 3 days to do the replacement…

Also, do you mean directly above the cat or to the right of the cat?

I sprayed my frame down with body cavity wax when l first bought it. It still looks new but Toyota wants to put some kind of plugs in it and spray some goop on it.

You gonna end up going for it no? Toyota has been making Tacomas for over 25 years...

You'd think that by now they would have gotten the damn frames correct!!!

You're telling me I'm overthinking it, and I kind of agree; However, other members are all doom and gloom...

I will probably let them do it, if I do l will also have the 3rd brake light recall done at the same time. I am even a little leary of that too as they have to pull the side panels and headliner and l don't want any of that damaged.

About the worst thing that's ever happened to my truck after being serviced is today's fiasco with the left rear wheel coming off (thought that was my mechanic, not the dealer); You read about that, right...?

Also, I found out that my Tacoma has a tighter turning radius than a 2006 Volvo S60!

Remember, for the dealerships that employ techs that can knock out a frame swap in 2 -3 days, the job pays extremely well.
Typically in the $14-15K neighborhood once it meets Toyotas requirements.
So usually they welcome the swaps.
    As far as coating $$ , I couldn’t say.

I have driven Frontiers on multiple occasions; I got one as a rental after that woman hit my truck and smooshed up the bumper...

    Would NEVER buy one!

That is one thing I don't miss about my 1988 Nissan King cab 4x4, with its short turning radius and the sound it made like I'm going to break something while doing it.

Covid has really caused people to dumb things. Today I was using the restroom at Kroger's and from the stall I heard an elderly guy screaming that he couldn't get out of the bathroom and shortly thereafter some other guy helped him. Once I got out of the stall I was able to see that they removed the freaking door handle and installed a small foot handle at the bottom of the door (for your safety). How in the heck is a person in a wheelchair or leg problems supposed to get out, it was actually really hard to open the damn door too cause the automatic closer had a ton of pressure on it.
