    I'm guessing 2nd gen.

    3rd gens aren't worth saving...

Anyone know what this is? Below the air intake on the passenger side of engine. Noticed it’s leaking and collecting quite a bit of dust/dirt around the engine.

Sweet, thanks! I’m hoping that’s what is causing my high idle.

Ha! I actually think a polar bear was messing around with it.

I’m just trying to sell the damn thing but the F150 I bought to replace it with seems to spend more time in the shop than on the road.

Weird, why would you sell one of the most dependable trucks ever made in favor of an F'n 150 that is prone to the shop?

You’re preaching to the choir man. The tacoma has given me over 110k miles of trouble free ownership. 158k miles on the odometer and the only problems I’ve had are related to lifting it.

I just need a larger truck with more towing capacity and interior room. 6.5’ bed to sleep in is also awesome. The Ford is seriously so fun to drive but damn that 10 speed transmission is quirky as hell. Other than that it’s great. I plan to drive it for 5-6 years and then wouldn’t be surprised to find myself in a used next gen Tundra.

I was wondering about that. Thought that maybe the changed their design, but that looks like the 4xinnovations kit for the hinge part.
I agree about the heims. I really like how you made yours compared to the coastal setup.

I think that was the exact route that @xtremewlr took when he did his coastal bumper too. He recommended that I do the same when I did mine, but I didn't listen. May end up doing the 4xInnovations hinge kit if the coastal one doesn't work out.

5 minute job, only thing I’d advise is be careful removing it. That rubber grommet has a tendency to crumble and fall into the engine. Here’s the replacement part numbers if you need them:

    I have mods
I actually started with the Coastal heims and ended up rebuilding the swingout after a while because I wasn't able to get the heims working for me. The 4xInnovations hinge is far superior. I've used it on my 4Runner now too.

I didn't, but I'm also not the best person to ask because I've been chasing alignment issues for awhile now. I don't think you'd need one after just doing the rack bushings but maybe I'm wrong.

Only if you completely remove the tie rods from the steering rack. If you disconnect them, just pop the outer tie rods out of the lower ball joints.

Yes, be careful removing the grommet that has turned into crumbly hard stone.
Replace the tube while you are there as it tends to split and become brittle.

Any tips on how to prevent it from falling in the engine? I imagine you could shove a rag inside so it doesn’t fall in and pick around the rag?
