Same here I agree on the Political shit too. The rich are getting rich on this and so is our politician for making it happen for them with kickbacks, payoffs and what not.

I'm 3.5 weeks into my first Taco.

I have been planning on buying for months. I was going to wait until the end of the year, but circumstances change and I bought on the last day of July (last day of the month is a good day to make vehicle deals BTW).

2020 TRD OR DCLB for 42.5k. Used, but certified used as it only had 5k on the clock. It was actually in the showroom. Why? Because they only had a few Tacos and 0 new ones. The only other OR they had was a 19 that had 36k on the clock and it was a SB. Price was much better of course at 37k (I think I'm remembering that correctly), but I wanted the warranty (all factory warranties apply when certified) and new car smell of the 20.

A few weeks prior at a different dealership I had the opportunity to put a deposit on one they had on the way. It was a 21, TRD OR DCSB with premium package and the sticker was 47k. I REALLY wanted it, but the certain dealership I was at adds on stupid fees and crap and the out the door price before taxes was closer to 53k so I left.

Here in FL there are tons of used available on Carvana and Zoom, but I read too many horror stories about those places so for me it wasn't an option.

On a side note, 2 months ago when we bought my wife's new Venza, I traded my 2017 Ram that I paid 27k for in April 2020. I got 34.5k for it on trade and I put over 40k on the clock last year (I drive a lot for work). All markets are stupid right now, but it is what it is. We just moved from Colorado to Florida, that was a fun home buying/selling experience in this market.....

Educated guess is more like it. No design change - int or ext for 2022.
Lots of info online from the automotive media on it. Saying small bump up. Etc. Some say $100 who knows.

I did not buy a truck. I put $500 down to get in line. And will pay MSRP whatever that is.
But am sure I will get what I want, and avoid this BS.
(BTY was offered this truck for MSRP, an hour into it they dropped the $6000.00 covid market adjustment.)
But decided I wanted an SR5 over the Sport. So here I am.
    Am thinking It should be well under 33k for a 2022 V6 / SR5.
    As a 2021 same build shows $32,145.

Is this the new 2021 Hybrid Venza? I traded my old 2014 Venza on my new 2021 TRD Sport and got 14,000 for it. Venza was a great car but decided to go back to the truck as a man you know what I mean lol. So very happy with my Taco and you will too. Congrats

Market adjustment..what a load of bs they've come up with. I'd them them to stick it where the sun don't shine. I don't know what sr5 build your thinking for under $33k, but imo thats not realistic for a 2022.

Ya, 21 hybrid Venza. Actually went to the dealership to buy a Rav4 Premier, but they didn't have any optioned like we were looking for so we test drove both the Rav and the Venza XLE we bought. The XLE Venza is optioned as well if not better than the Rav premeier. The price difference in the Rav and Venza was only a few k and the Venza is more of a lexus/lux feel/ride/quiet/comfort, etc. Primary function is a grocery getter and road trips, so the Venza was our pick. Rav is nice, but rides like my Taco and I could hear the hybrid electonics regenerating on deceleration. Not so on the Venza. No complaints so far.

Will find out. 2021 was just under a grand over 2020 model. Will see what additional things they add if any.
Am not including "DELIVERY, PROCESSING & HANDLING FEE" Around $1200.00
But for 2021 the base SR5 was 28,190. And the V6 adds $3145.

I wonder if that includes the mud flaps and fender flares to. Some states like ours its mandatory to have them. We have more fees here than that.

My Venza was XLE AWD and I loved it. It was pretty loaded and they also hold their value you won't regret it one bit. I was thinking about the new Venza Hybrid then I went for the TRD Sport Premium 4x4 as we live in the snowbelt area but the Venza was great in the snow got it stuck 2 in my own yard lol in the 7 years I had it so that tells you the AWD is great on cars and they seem to be popping all over the place.

I sell this trucks and the price you are showing is correct for MSRP on your trim package. The 45k you saw on their website was more likely for one with the premium Package, that adds almost 4k for the leather and sunroof. I ran the VIN of the one link you attached and that indeed had all the bells and whistles.

Just the other day I peeked at a dealer's inventory in Roseville CA. They're clearly advertising $10,000 dealer MARK UPS. Words escape me for people who pay those prices.

Buying used is the only way to get MSRP at this point.

Not where I work, every new car is MSRP no mark up. However you do have to buy the protection package we offer from Ziebart. Comes with free annual renewals and a 10 year warranty. Better than just adding thousands of dollars for pure air.

Is this that extended warranty that makes finance managers so incredibly rich?

The warranty is on the paint and interior of the car by Ziebart. Finance makes their money a different way, that is on the buyer if they buy something extra.

I hear you, i've always gotten large discounts on new cars. But really want to travel and not work as much going forward so i'd have to put that on hold, and also made a bit of money selling my house and can trade in my lease early and pocket 3k instead of nothing and paying a $400 termination charge, meaning that msrp is more like 3k off since i never planned on making anything on my lease to begin with.

I'm on my 3rd week with my 2021 DCSB Sport, Technology package, door edge guards, mudflaps, sill protectors, the optional floor liners/mats, I went to 5 local dealers...I had to pay +$2k over MSRP for their "Market Adjustment" but they gave me $22k for my 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Z-71 4x4, that had 138k miles, a broken exhaust manifold bolt, ticking lifter, broken backup camera and stains on the headliner from a roof leak, so I felt I did ok...The next closest deal I was offered was $19k for the GMC and +$3k market adjustment on the Tacoma.

Reading pricing posts in the online car forum community over the last 2 decades has always made me think of this adage I heard long ago - "people love to brag about how little they pay for their car but how much they pay for their house"

While I can't think of anyone that doesn't mind saving money - myself OBVIOUSLY included - it's pretty apparent that during this point in history, especially on a Tacoma and other well regarded trucks in short supply, that going in and getting $5K off the true MSRP (not the fluff that a dealer adds) is not happening. I think some folks are confusing the addendum (the small strip to the right of the actual manufacturers window sticker) that has a list of the dealer "fluff" they add - paint and fabric protection, window tint, Adjusted Market Value, 3rd party wheel/tire packages, dealership added entertainment systems, etc. Those items have a silly amount of markup - sometimes as high as 300-400% whereas the truck itself has a 6-10% markup depending on options. I paid exactly MSRP this past May for my loaded '21 Manual after waiting 3 months for it to come in. In my initial search I quickly learned that availability of the very specific spec I wanted was very slim. Plus, given the very high residual on used Tacomas (in general), this is a vehicle that I felt was definitely worth MSRP. Granted, by waiting for an allocation and spec'ing it to my desires meant it didn't have any dealer fluff and literally only what I wanted on it (all of the factory options, OEM floor liners, and a port installed Bakflip tri-fold bed cover). The MSRP with those options was a hair under $43K, however I just looked at their website and they have trucks listed for a few grand over that without any of the factory packages because they are loaded up with all of the fluff I mentioned. So, not all "I paid" comments are created equal.

I have to reiterate, no one wants to pay too much for anything, but if you want what you want in this market, I certainly hope you feel the Tacoma is "worth" MSRP and not some absurdly low figure because you just want a deal.
