How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

no dealer I've spoken with has any info yet as to when one can be ordered. he likely didn't have it either and finally came clean.

 

Possibly, but I work for the same company who owns this dealership and used to work there for 5 yrs. The salesman I use I'm good friends with and if that were the case he would have told me that from the start, when I was on the phone with him when he was ordering the truck last week dealer daily allowed them to place my order just no allocations being given to them by Toyota Im going to swing by later and chat with the sales manager to get more info.

 

True, based on that man, can't imagine he would have misled you. I called 2 dealers today, both said they have no current date to order yet.

 

Hey, just reading this. Are you guys saying that Toyota is not accepting new allocation requests right now or not providing allocations at all until further notice? If so any idea why?

 

That's what I was told this morning, not sure why, going to try and get more info later.

 

Thank you. Please keep us posted. Would interested to know if those of us that have allocation requests in the system (but not accepted) will remain in the system until it gets pulled (this is my situation!). Others would be interested to know if the system will block new allocation requests from being entered at all.

If either of these are the case, I hope the reason is to allow the supply chain to work itself out over the next few to 6 months.

 

Perfect opportunity to first hand see where they can input it in the system to request a 2022. If possible snag a picture because I feel adamant that they don’t have that ability. Other models yes but not for a Tacoma.

 

Interested to hear what you find out. My dealer said he’d let me know when he could start placing allocation orders. Said he thought it’d be August, but I haven’t heard anything yet.

 

Alright just got off the phone with salesman he said from what he understood based on what the sales manager told him Toyota stopped all new allocations on every Toyota vehicle until further notice. He said it could be a couple days or the next allocation time beginning of September till they get an update they didn’t know. He did confirm my order was placed and sent to Toyota and as soon as Toyota allocated them a lunar rock trd off road similar to my build even if it wasn’t exact they would modify the allocation to match my order and it would be accepted. He is going to call me as soon as he hears an update.

 

I did this exact same process for a 2021 Pro MT. Put deposit down in March, removed all port installed options except the bed lights, those are great, and picked it up in June. Easiest car purchase i have ever had, except for the wait.

 

I was able to put a reservation in at my dealer yesterday for the 2022 Tacoma TRD Off Road Premium

 

When are 22s supposed to hit dealerships?

Email from my dealer today. Toyota allocation have been canceled due to a Covid outbreak. Hoping to submit middle of September if I can. It will be a 2022 when I can submit.

 

Just put deposit for a 2022 Trd ORP. Shocking news from local dealership, I was told there will be no luner rock for TRD OR trim in 2022, luner rock only open for pre oder on TRD sport. I don't think this is the whole story, most likely the partial info before official release. I put deposit for a white, but they say I can change if there is luner rock eventually from Toyota. I am in Canada, BC. The key word is that not all dealerships are same, and there are things that sales person cannot say.

The interesting part is my ETA is early Nov, I highly doubt if this is true...too fast to be real.

Def no Lunar Rock option for acccess cab in canada. Only 4 choices for AC paint for 2022. Sucks

 

I ordered a TRD off road AT DCSB Army Green premium package back in April. I was told on Friday that my allocation was canceled for a 2021 model, because of the chip shortage. My salesman explained to me that my order is still in the system and my truck is going to be a 2022. When Toyota decides to start taking allocations again, possibly in 3 months from what I’m been told, that mine will fall back in line. My truck was supposed to be built this coming week.

 

Double cab, but definitely not gonna be only three colors for TRD OR trim, but only three colors open for pre order for some reason.I am expecting to wait super long for a luner rock.

 

So like most of you, I keep getting unclear and confusing answers. I wanted a cement 2021 TRD Sport DC w/6M. I put my deposit down in the middle of July. I got a call from the dealer last week there was no allocation for a 2021 and mine would be a 2022. No problem for me but then was told cement would not be an option in any trim, it is gone. So after being given my options I went with a Lunar Rock. Now mind you when mine gets to port they will add the South East Toyota XP blackout package and once at the dealer I am adding leather and the TRD Lift. I said all that to say this, I was told that the week of September 6 is when the allocations open up for 2022 . Dealer seems to think 60-90 days once a vehicle is allocated.
